@arosebyany: that is so awesome! I didn't know about sidecarring a crib with my first... I totally would have tried it! Now we are expecting our second and we aren't even planning on getting a crib since we bedshared for about a year and then slowly transitioned to a floor bed. If we weren't so tight on space I might consider it just to try sidecarring it!

@mrsbubbletea: @DesertDreams88: @Grace: @hony bologna: so it's been 3 nights since I sidecar'd the crib and it's been wonderful!! I can still reach over and touch him. He realizes there's not an actual barrier separating us and he gets his own space. It's worked out better than I thought. Thanks ladies

I'm also a light sleeper and non-cuddler and although this is kind of a wild card idea that isn't ideal if you're still nursing at night, it will help if you find that your LO still rolls out of the sidecar to cuddle at night. I just lay a bed bumper like the one below next to my daughter after she's fallen asleep. She cuddles with it (or my husband) and I don't get climbed on in the middle of the night, it's a win-win. :silly:

@arosebyany: A friend of mine side-car-ed the crib as a way to transition from co-sleeping to independent sleeping.

The Arms Reach Co-Sleeper is like this, but I don't know what the dimensions and if it will fit an 18 month old.

@arosebyany: that's what I was going to suggest! I never did it though. I really think you should try a floor bed in your or LO room. It was such a good transition for my LO!

So I've come to terms with the fact that I am incapable of putting my child into his own bed. It is what it is, I get horrible sleep when he's in bed with me, but it's wayyyy worst when I try to put him in his crib. I currently have a king size bed and the perfect solution to my problem would be a king and a half size bed. Some nights I wake up in a pool of sweat because DH and DS are both on top of me, they're both very cuddly in thier sleep lol, I am not. Do they make a product that is like a bed that attaches to a bed? Or can I convert his crib to attach to the bed? Pretty much I need to add a bed to my bed, because I need to physically be able to touch him at night or I can't sleep. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you ladies for all your help and for putting up with my craziness.

ETA: I forgot to mention that my bed is 34" off the ground.
