@Shizaz: I hear you on it feeling like an eternity! Everyone's journey is different and it's okay to feel like that. It took us 10 months and at the time, it felt like it would never happen. Now I feel really lucky and blessed that it only took us 10 months.

I think you should start trying on CD 10 or 11. Do it every other day until you get a positive OPK. Then do it that day and the following 2 or 3. The month it worked for us, I actually marked down the days on a calendar, lol. I needed to see it in writing!

Thanks everyone. I guess we'll continue what we've been doing. We do it whenever up until CD 13, and then from there on try to do it every second day. I usually get the +OPK around CD17.

I just wish it were easier than it is! I know we've only been trying for 4 months and there are people who have tried way longer, but it has felt like an eternity already.

I agree with DTD on the days/every other day leading up to O and a few days after that just to make sure.

I would do what @jlm22: suggested. Start a few days before you would usually O and then do every other day until you get a positive OPK, then that night and the next.

I've seen some recent articles that suggest that women who have sex throughout the month are more likely to get pregnant than those that only have sex right around ovulation. Something about lessening an immune response to the sperm and egg.

I'd just do it as much as you can :) including the 2-3 days on day-off + OPK and the few days after.

I'm not the expert, but I followed the rule that if you DTD every 2 days, you are likely to catch your fertile window whenever that might be.

It's hard to nail down exactly when you ovulate. I say bd once you get a positive opk, and then every day for the next 2-3 days to make sure.

I'm no expert and along with timing, I think it just comes down to pure luck! However, IMO, I would DTD every other day starting around day 10 (or later, depending on when you think you O) and then once you get the positive OPK, DTD 3 days in a row. Good luck!

I'm not confident that we will be lucky this month with TTC. Our timing wasn't great because of how busy we have been.

However, I have learned a lot in the last few months and I think I have a pretty good idea when I'm ovulating. I'm just not sure when the best timing would be to 'get things done'.

This is the pattern I've noticed. I get a positive OPK, and then about 12-24 hours later I get the O pain. It's an unmistakable ache in my side. I get it every month, no fail. It lasts about 24 hours, but about 10 hours after the initial light pain, it can get so painful that I need tylenol.

Right around the peak time of pain, do you think that's when ovulation is actually occurring? Or does it occur at the first sign of pain?

I've read that it could take up to 12 hours for sperm to get where it needs to be, and then it can last up to 5 days.

Is it still best for us to DTD when we get the positive OPK? Or would it be better to hold off until I start feeling the pain? (Sex wouldn't be comfortable, but I'm willing to do it anyway!)
