When LO started pulling herself up and grabbing everything in sight I filled the baskets on the shelves of her changing table in the nursery with all kinds of fun things. It was a mix of all sorts of random things like actual toys, an empty mini water bottle that she could grasp and made crinkle noises, stuffed animals, hair brush, baby mirror, books, hats, etc. That way she wasn't discouraged from exploring but I wasn't worried about her safety.

@mauxie: we have the wooden version of the play yard wahine08 linked to, and it is very sturdy. DD pulls up on it all the time! We also have ours sitting on foam floor tiles to soften the thuds if she falls, since we have hardwood floors. I highly recommend the North States play yards, they're great! Not sure about the plastic ones, but for the wood and metal versions, they're pretty small unless you get one of the 2-panel extension kits, which makes it a really decent size.

Following!

I have the music table for LO (7 mos) to stand up and play on but he gets bored with it quickly. He just wants to move/climb/pull up on everything!! I never had to do baby gates with my firstborn but looks like a playard is the best thing??

The only thing that keeps us sane is the baby play yard that keeps her confined within a space! We keep safe toys in it and it's on top of soft padded tiles. We climb in and play with her!

We have this little table:

http://www.diapers.com/p/fisher-price-puppy-friends-learning-table-844562?site=CA&sku=FS-1683&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&utm_content=%7Badtype%7D&ca_sku=FS-1683&ca_gpa=%7Badtype%7D&ca_kw=%7Bkeyword%7D&CAWELAID=500001800000005514&kpid=FS-1683

He can pull up and stand and play with it, and it's provided a lot of needed distraction!

Help! My little guy has been crawling for a good while now (and getting fast!) and is now pulling up to stand. He will also get up on his knees to reach something higher. I cannot take my eyes off of him! He's a typical baby in that he wants to touch everything he's not supposed to.

I need some suggestions for things to do with him, and/or toys to satisfy his craziness! TIA!
