This is all great feedback! Def thinking S2 vs S9...probably S9 since I won’t be using it a ton and don’t necessarily need the power. I’m sure it will be more powerful than my 5.5 year old PISA regardless 🤣 (I gave my free pump from my last baby away before I even opened the box—pretty sure I’ve only pumped less than 20 times even though I nursed my last two babies for almost 3 years collectively)

@bees_knees: I loved my Spectra S2. I pumped 4x a day once back again work and it worked great. I bought a second on cheaply (used A it’s a closed system) so I didn’t have to carry it back and forth. Not sure I would get the battery one unless I thought it would work comparably.

I had Medela PISA the first two times and this time I'm going for the Spectra! But I WOH so I wanted something stronger.

I'd get the S9 if I were you. I had the Medela Freestyle (loved it) for baby #1 and got the S2 for baby #2, the actual pumping aspect of which I preferred, but it was cumbersome. I'll bet the S9 is the best of both worlds, and it's pretty awesome that it's free!

FWIW I've heard across the board terrible things about all Ameda pumps.

I preferred my spectra s2 way more than my medela Pump in style. It was quieter, stronger, etc.

I definitely recommend the S9! It’s super portable and pretty efficient. I used it while I was on leave to manage my oversupply and would pump while putting away groceries, etc. It's not as powerful as the S2 but it’s totally fine for someone with a decent supply who won’t need to pump much.

I've only used the S2 which I got cause I thought I needed a beefy one and it had amazing reviews, but I rarely used it since I stayed at home for the first year with my son. The few times I did need use it, I wish I had something more portable and wasn't tethered down with a power cord so my vote would be the S9... which I really hope to be able to get next time around.

My insurance recently expanded their pump options (all covered at 100%...yay!)....but now I don't know what to pick. I'm a SAHM, have above average milk supply, and rarely pump but have never had issues getting lots of milk in a fairly short pump session. I've only ever used a Medela PISA in the past, but I'm definitely looking for something more compact this time!

My choices include:
Medela PISA
Ameda Finesse, Purely Yours, Mya
Hygeia Joye
Motif Duo or Luna
Spectra S2 or S9
Evenflo
Lansinoh (not sure on the specific models for these)

I feel spoiled having such a list! I think I'm leaning towards an S9? But I have literally no idea. Someone choose for me :silly:
