I like the third! You can always wear different accessories to change it up as the weeks going :) I'm starting weekly bump photos next week too and I'm going to wear a maternity maxi skirt with a fitted white maternity tank or white rouched maternity shirt.

Oh I should note, my very favorite maternity item to wear was a ruched, stretch cotton t-shirt dress that was navy with gray horizontal stripes. Killed me to consign it! haha.

@MrsCB: The ruched t-shirts are surprisingly stretchy! I started wearing that black one at 12 weeks, and wore it all the way until 40 weeks! I just bought my normal t-shirt size. It wasn't tight in the beginning, but it didn't look ridiculous. Mine was from Kohl's.

Thanks everyone, this is so helpful!

@Foodnerd81: yup, both 2 and 3 are Old Navy.

@TurtleDoves: hmm, I hadn't thought about them being too casual. I'm having trouble finding nicer stuff that's rouched. It seems like most tshirt type shirts are ruched and the dressier ones are empire waist. ETA: just realized you might be thinking about professional maternity photos, not the weekly bump pics?

@photojane: That shirt looks great one you :). I would love one that would do exactly that, but I feel like ones that fit me now won't stretch enough to fit at 40 weeks. And the bigger size kind of hangs off me. Maybe I'll just have to buy 2 sizes.

I liked the first one but if you don't think it would fit all the way through I vote the third - gray stripes is pretty and flattering!

I agree that something ruched will be best to grow with you! I wore a ruched tee with jeans for my weekly photos, and just changed up the shoes & cardigan (if it was cold). I think it was a success. Here's my first & last pic, so you can get an idea of how the tee option would work...

I found that non-ruched things were pretty much impossible for me to wear towards the end of pregnancy-- they either didn't fit over my bump or they rode up so high that I was exposing lower bump which I hated! You could wear something underneath but that's so uncomfortable for me, especially when you're that big. I voted for #3 because it looks most comfortable and simple, which I think is important across all bump sizes! You can always accessorize if you want to jazz it up a bit.

2 or 3! I'm 28 weeks and for a while I've been feeling like the empire waists are very flattering in person, but in my bump photos, the bump isn't as accentuated as something that comes in underneath (like the ruching ones). I'd buy the next size up now in whichever you decide if you want to wear the same one in all the photos.

Yay for a nice little round belly :)

ETA: #3 is from Old navy, right? I have it in green stripes and I really like it and so far it's held up well in the wash, where a lot of Old Navy stuff doesn't for me.

I say 2 or 3 but voted for 2 b/c I like the V-neck better. I would definitely go with a ruched, fitted shirt. I did a blue, ruched maternity shirt for my progression (my blog is linked in my profile, I posted my final progression in Dec 2012). It was big on me in the beginning, but I used hair clips to make it more fitted when my bump wasn't very big.

I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday and I think I'd like to start doing bump pics. I've always been chubby (size 16) but I've started to notice that I'm definitely getting rounder, as DH puts it, lol. So I think it's a good time to start capturing the progression. I'm not sure what to wear though. I'd like to do one outfit all the way through, but I'm not sure if it's going to be possible.

I really like the way the maternity capris make me look, they kind of take my pudge and make it look baby bump shaped, so I just need to pick a shirt.

I love the shirt in #1, but while it looks great now, it's empire waist and I'm not sure will highlight the bump well when I'm further along. 2 and 3 are basically the same shirt in different colors that I bought in a smaller size than usual because I'm not very bump-y yet and I'm not sure they'll make it through the whole pregnancy. I'd probably have to go buy another one in the next size up, but they were really cheap. #4 I like, but again it's empire waist, not ruched, and I'm not sure if it looks too summery? (due in November).

So do I go with one of these, or keep looking?
