@ladybee: I got #2 and loved it. LOVE IT. So comfortable. It does it all. I like to recline and rock while feeding LO. It makes getting up at 5am a LOT more enjoyable :)

eta: just for clarification: I don't have that exact brand. We got ours from a furniture store and paid $499. It is the same though....fabric and design and rocking.reclining capabilities Ours reclines electronically though which was great because it is quieter and it goes slowly so you and the baby don't jerk back.

I'd get chair 1, get what you could afford, even though your in laws are paying for it. You can use the rocker in the nursery and its cute enough to add into the home after baby.

@Foodnerd81: I think there is one we can go look at but overall there isn't much besides the Internet. I hate that I'm making purchases off online reviews! We could probably return it and apply the money to chair 2 if my in laws were ok with that.

@ladybee: Yeah, I ran into the same problem, though I lucked out at BBB. Can you return #1 if you don't like it as much as 2? Or do you have any big furniture stores that sell baby furniture near you? I hate that it's such a big purchase that you have to pretty much make based on a picture!

@Foodnerd81: we've sat in number 2 but haven't been able to sit in number 1. BRU doesn't have a real great selection and we don't have BBB.

Have you sat in either? I was dead set on something like #2, sat in a ton, had it all picked out. But when we went to Buy Buy Baby to order it, I sat in all of them again and ended up being more comfortable in something like #1. It's not nearly so pretty, and it won't be as good for toddler reading sessions, much to my dismay, but I have a bad back and sitting in the more supportive and less pretty one felt so much better. I've been sitting in it to read at night instead of on our big recliner couches!

But LO isn't here yet, so I haven't nursed in it yet. I just very strongly recommend you try a bunch out-- I sat in some that look just the same as the one I got and they aren't nearly as comfortable. I think this is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Dutailier-Sleigh-Glider-Beige-Microfiber/dp/B004JU0FGG/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1371583193&sr=8-7&keywords=dutalier+sleigh+glider
BBB sold it with the ottoman included.

We got something similar to #1 and I really wish we'd splurged for something similar to #2.

We are looking at something very similar to # 1, to stay in budget. However, if we had the funds left over, I might splurge on something like # 2, since it could eventually be moved to the living room.

I will say, however, that I am not really an arm chair person, as I much prefer to be sprawled out on the couch, when relaxing. Getting something like # 2 would mainly be for DH, post nursing.

I bought a big rocking chair because I wanted something that would last and I love it. So worth the $400.

It was Great for nursing and its wide enough for him as a toddler to sit next to me and read/watch a show. We keep it in our livingroom.

1. We have 1 and 2 and 2 is better for snuggles. 1 is better for long nursing sessions, everyday use. I find it's harder to get out of the lazyboy than it is to get out f the rocker.

Can you tell what my mission in life is today? I really want to nail down our furniture choices so I can give them to my MIL.

Decisions made so far today:
We are going with the Davinci Jayden short dresser and crib and asking for a rocker or assistance in buying one.

DaVinci makes a rocker that looks nice. DH and I had originally planned on buying a Lane recliner that rocks, swivels, and reclines and putting it in our living room.

If we get the rocker my in laws would probably by the rocker out right and we'd keep it in the baby's room. However, at $150 it obviously wouldn't last the amount of years the recliner would at $500. WWYD?
