And salesmen begging us to buy things because they're poor and need the commission. Honestly, the first experience we had there 8 years ago was great, so great that I never thought negatively about the so-so furniture we ended up with. The second was so uncomfortable that I just never want to go back there and risk going through that again.</p> <p>I've heard about overstock as well! One option we are considering is just finding a good mattress and boxspring and just having that on plain rails for a while, then shopping around for a nice headboard we both love. I think those beds tend to be more budget friendly.</p> <p>Costco has a selection in different budgets but you probably can't see them in person before you buy. We were really happy with the quality of our Costco bedroom set though. There is one relatively close to us, but in an area we NEVER go. Might be worth the trip though. I need help!! I dread going into "real" furniture stores because of the hard sell aspect... this is how I got rushed into buying my current bedroom set and two couch sets. I totally regret all of them. :T </p> <p>Wagon Sr. and I have tentatively decided to purchase ourselves a new king-sized bed for our 8th anniversary + christmas presents to ourselves. We don't want to spend too much (and we don't need "REAL", heirloom-quality furniture). </p> <p>I just need ideas on where to look for ideas...!! Haha. That sounds ridiculous. We went to ikea yesterday to browse and get ideas and we got pretty confused.</p> <p>I THINK we want to avoid using a bedskirt and we'd like a bed that sits on the ground so we don't have to deal with the whole dogs-and-kids-under-the-bed-with-dust aspect. At the same time, we don't want one of those super-low beds like many of the platform beds at Ikea. From the little online window shopping I've done, I think what we're looking for is a real bed that doesn't require a boxspring, just a mattress that sits on top, OR a headboard and boxspring combo where the boxspring looks like a bed foundation instead of just a second mattress. </p> <p>Our other bedroom furniture is dark chocolate brown and our style is classic and simple. Beiges and neutrals.
