Try one of the Graco clones. They have a bunch that are similar . Ours is like the MyFit65 or something. I switched DD at 5 months when my car was totaled and I needed a new carseat. Now she's 4 and I still love it.

Buy a seat and designate it for travel. The cosco scenera is light, inexpensive, works with the mountain buggy nano, and is safe. It’s a relatively easy install with both latch and belt. It’s $50. It’s not the most cushy, so save it for travel and when the time comes, buy a bit more expensive convertible with a few more bells and whistles.

We are taking a trip in the fall, and didn't want to pay for an extra seat on the plane. I also didn't feel comfortable checking a car seat, not knowing how banged up it could get.

My parents are driving to the destination, and can take the car seat. But we still need a seat to take him to the airport in. I was thinking of purchasing a convertible car seat, as it can be used longer than the infant one he has now.

He will be 5 months, assuming a convertible car seat will be fine? Anything I should look for specifically? Any features that are a must?
