that sounds rough....I can tell you that my mom got me into my own bed/room by putting me in my bed, and then sitting outside the door. I'd get up and walk to the door, she'd pick me up and put me back in bed. She said she did it for like 3 hours straight the first night......but it worked eventually. :(

@mrsjazz: Sorry, but I totally giggled/laughed at the thought of your LO screaming MORE BOOBIES MORE BOOBIES for the world to hear. Poor you!!

@mrs. wagon: we've been co-sleeping (me and DS) since he wakes up way too often during the night. But when he's ready to be fully awake in the morning, and I still want some shut eye, DS will roll towards me and start playing/grabbing and twisting my facial parts or kick me while babbling. Sigh.

@mrsjazz: hehe. Well she is our second, so we definitely feel like our lives have been robbed. Our lives after bedtime (like 7pm) are OURS. It's definitely a different world!

And yes, sometimes I think, it would be so nice to cuddle with them every night. We always look at our kids on the video monitor and joke "let's just bring them into our bed, right here, we could cuddle them all night."

But I'm an incredibly light sleeper and everyone else in this family is an incredibly active sleeper. The nights Wagon Jr. sleeps in our room (guests sleep in his room) he sleeps on an aerobed because I can't sleep in the same bed as him. The few times we tried, I had to sleep on the couch downstairs!

So yeah, it's a sacrifice of cuddles, but for our lifestyle it works. We get our cuddles in at bedtime :) And like I said above, the times we've tried to cobed (out of pure exhaustion and defeat!!) our kids just think it's playtime.

@mrs. wagon: Ugh. This sounds like hell! Haha. She is in the stage where she loves to scream. And she'll scream "No, no, no!" Or our names really loudly. It's embarrassing!

Maybe I'm a little afraid of what my life will be like with a child who goes to sleep in her own room at night! Oh the things I could do! But also the cuddles I would miss. I'm so confused! Haha.

@mrsjazz: I hear you sister. my son falls asleep touching my face, he pinches my nose, gets wrapped up in the blankets, kicks me. He really needs to be sleeping alone as well, but i am way too chicken to execute.

@mrs. wagon: haha, I have no idea what I am doing, I am sooo not the one to be offering sleep advice.

@looch: I would co-sleep for longer if we could all sleep together peacefully. There is usually a moment of peace where I stare at her beautiful little face. But then that peace is ruined by her little sweaty body on my chest, her hands in my armpits, her feet kicking my crotch, and her screams for Boobies. Haha.

Maybe we will try the bed in our room this week and see how that goes.

@looch: I totally thought of you the other day because I "gave up" and brought her into our bed. She rolled around happily for a while, and when we both turned our backs to her, she stood up and started banging on our headboard and laughing. FAIL.

I feel you, my no sleep sister. We are going through a horrible sleep time right now as well, with my almost 20 month old.

I can't imagine what your neighbors must think when they hear "MORE BOOBIES MORE BOOBIES" at 2am... hehe sorry!! I can't help but giggle.

If I were you I would move her into her own room, and then buckle down for a week or two of basically roughing it out. I definitely hear you on no screaming... Mine also only gets more riled up with screaming and doesn't fall asleep out of exhaustion like my first did. Plus mine will stay standing in the crib ALL NIGHT LONG. So if I were you I would see if you could get her to not scream (maybe just cry, or even be quiet!) while you're sitting in the room, but not touching her at all. We sit by the doorway, and when she starts whimpering or crying, we poke our head in and shush her, then go back out. We started out sitting by her crib. touching her less and less each night, then one night just sitting by her after putting her down and not touching her at all. We'd sneak out after she fell asleep. The next night we'd sit further away from the crib, then further ,until finally we were by the door. The less eye contact you can make with them, the better. Now we are sitting outside the door and poking our head in when she wakes and cries.

I learned this on Supernanny!!

I think your options are:
1. toddler bed in your room
2. bed in her room, with you waiting for her to fall asleep in chair
3. bed in her room, with you sleeping in the room on a separate air mattress, that you move closer and closer to the door until you are in your room

Full disclosure: i cosleep with my 3 year old. last night he climbed on top of me for cuddles and told me he loved me. he then proceeded to elbow me in the neck and i concked my head on his nose in the middle of the night, because he sleeps on my pillow.

LO is almost 23-months. We are co-sleepers but it's starting to be a big problem for me. LO used to go down easier, but she's become super clingy. I still nurse her at night before bed (not to sleep) but then she says, "hug, Mommy?" climbs on top of me and falls asleep. This started when she was sick so I was okay with it, but now it's her thing and no hug means a fight. It's harder to slip away when she's got me in a death grip. She also is waking up in the MOTN asking to nurse and I stopped doing that a couple of months ago. I would just tell her no and pat her back and she went back to sleep. Now she will scream and yell "MORE BOOBIES MORE BOOBIES" and kick and hit. Full on tantrum mode at 2 am. I feel sorry for our neighbors.

She won't sleep in her crib, which is side-carred to our bed, so I'm thinking of just moving it over or into her room. We tried to let her cry it out (which we both have not been fans of in the past) and turns out, we still don't like it, haha. She just gets super hysterical and 2 hours later she's wide awake, we can't sleep, and our neighbors hate us even more.

I need to not fall asleep with her every night any longer and have lots of uninterrupted sleep throughout the night. DH told me today, "You should wake up with LO wakes up in the morning it might help with morning weaning." I wanted to slap him through the phone--you try being kicked and punched and begged for boobies and see how that affects your morning.

How do I make this transition the easiest on both LO and I? Move the crib to the other side of the room so she still sees we're there? Move her into her room? I'm okay with a little crying, but not hysterics.
