@Foodnerd81: I'm so glad to hear this. All of a sudden we have a nighttime routine we Jack which makes me cautiously excited that naps will fall in when he's ready.

@Mrs. Sunshine: That was us. Does she go to sleep on her own at night? We had to sleep train at night first, let that set for a few weeks, then we nap trained and it went a lot smoother. When I tried nap training at the same time we did it for bed time it was way worse and I just gave up. It went a lot better than I was expecting, because I think we just did it at the right time for her.

But it's SO hard right now, for you, because she is still a little to young for that but is fighting every other way to get her to sleep! Virtual hug for you to get through it!

@Foodnerd81: after rocking her for 45 minutes earlier today, I decided to just lay her down & let her cry but we only made it 3 minutes before I was crying & my husband went in to rock her! 30 minutes later, she still wasn't asleep so we gave up & gave it another go at her next nap. It takes at least 20 mins to get her down, I'm not looking forward to CIO but I will do what will help her get the rest she needs!

@Mrs. Sunshine: By 4 months she was doing so much better! BUT, we did have to do a little bit of CIO to get here. Back at 3-3.5 I was practically in tears over most naps, now she goes to sleep on her own and more often than not, sleeps for over an hour. It will get better!

Are you nursing? Sometimes I would have to sit in her room, in the dark and let her nurse to sleep and just stay there for the whole nap. Thank god for my iphone to save me from the boredeom :) I couldn't even take my nipple out of her mouth for some of the naps.

Stroller or carrier walks worked at that age too. It was exhausting because I had to keep moving the whole time, but not as exhausting as an overtired cranky baby. If she was in the stroller, I'd bring a blanket to put over the stroller once she fell asleep and put white noise on my phone. She was a very high maintenance sleeper, if she slept at all.

If it makes you feel any better, 3 months was the absolute worst sleep for my baby so far. The 4 months sleep regression was nothing compared to 3 months, so you might just be in the worst of it and it will get better soon!

Sometimes the only way to get DS to sleep was the stroller or a car ride!

DD suddenly refuses to nap! Just a few weeks ago she was able to just go to sleep while playing, then continue play after waking up, easy peasy. I know babies/kids change & adjust as they get older. Her night sleep is still fantastic, waking up only 1 to maybe 2 times a night & sleeping until at least 7 or 8. But now morning is the only happy part of our day. If I am able to get her to nap it's usually 30 minutes tops. & she is mildly grouchy after. I've tried rocking, swaddling, singing, holding her, wearing her, allowing to sleep on her stomach; nothing helps! I just want to help her feel rested & happy again! Any tips?
