@HeatherlovesKenny: yeah, our toys detach as well. I think I will wait until his head is a little more stable, my son is a small little man unlike your DS.

@Coco Bee: I rolled a blanket and tucked it into the chair then detached a few of the toys (which not all exersaucers can do but luckily ours did) and he did fine! But if LO isn't supporting his head yet then I'd wait a little while. DS started sitting up on his own by 4 months, he was a big guy at that age though--his cousin who is the same age didn't fully support his head until he was 6 months.

But by the time your LO can support his head you can try the other positions in the Gemini, which hopefully he'll like!

@HeatherlovesKenny: You put him in an exersaucer at 3 mos? My LO still can't hold his head up perfectly yet (though he's close). It wasn't too stimulating for him?
@mrsjazz: I hope so! This carrier was way too expensive for him not to like it!
@Mrs. Jacks: Me too! it boggles my mind. I honestly had no idea there were some babies that don't like being in the carrier - what is wrong with them?!

By the time DS was 3 months, he didn't want to be in anything other than his exersaucer--that's the only way I could shower, fold clothes and cook dinner for awhile. I plan to buy a new one for DD since we actually used it until DS was a year old!

Hopefully it's just a phase and he'll go back to being a happy camper in the carrier!

It gets better, I promise! My LO was like that too, she only wanted to be held and didn't like the carrier. She would tolerate it for about a half hour at the most, but usually not even that long. I just didn't get things done, and I used it as an excuse to have extra snuggles with my LO. They're only that little once, and soon he will be like my LO who only wants to be on the ground crawling around and squirms away from me :(

@Coco Bee: I have no advice but I'm going through the same thing. I can only put her in the Beco when she's sleeping--other than that she's fighting to get out. I hear they outgrow it, that's what I'm looking forward to.

@chopsuey119: I usually pick him up within a few minutes of him crying, he doesn't like being left alone.

@mrs. wagon: I put him in the bouncer while I shower and he's ok for those 10 min but thats it. I've tried it while cooking and he won't have it.

He hated the swing at first! now he tolerates it for about ten minutes. He only likes it because of the mobile and mirror I think

I was going to suggest either continued breast feeding or pacifier. Start sort and then extend the time by a few minutes each day might help. I really think it's weird how some babies don't like to be worn. Maisie hates it at first, but then settles.

@banana: Yes, that's the only way I can get him to tolerate it long enough to make dinner, is with a pacifier. It's hard. He will play on the floor if I'm right there.

It's so weird, how does he know the difference between my arms and the carrier?!

Wagon Jr. was not a happy camper in the carrier either! Luckily for me he loved the bouncy chair, the swing, and eventually, the exersaucer and bouncer. He could spend an hour straight in the exersaucer. Have you tried any of those?

Hurmm. When you put him down (do you have an activity gym you can put him in?) how long does he cry for?

Oh no! That must be so tiring for you.... :( My best friend's daughter was the same. Had to be held CONSTANTLY. Hated the carrier, hated the swing, hated everything except for mommy's arms. She said the baby outgrew it eventually but didn't seem to be able to find a solution. =\

Will your baby take a pacifier? Maybe try the pacifier while in the carrier, since it seems like he's soothing himself on your breast?

I have a really expensive SSC, Beco Gemini which I LOVED using with the baby I nannyed last summer. So I registered for it and got it, and I personally love it.
But DS hates it! Everytime I put him in it, he cries and cries unless I breastfeed him in it, then he's ok, but I can't breastfeed the whole time I need him in it. He cries if I put him down for too long too, even if he can see me, so basically he just wants to be held all the time and I can't do it!
I haven't been able to make dinner this week until he goes to bed. I'm going to go crazy! I keep putting him in it hoping he'll get used to it but it doesn't seem to be working.
