@T.H.O.U.: looks great! We have a similar combo in our house - SW Grecian Ivory with SW Poolhouse as accent color for the whole house. Gray tones did not work in our house no matter how many I swatched- with the lighting in our house made it all look like cement prison cells.

We love the combo - it's very calming and easy to find rugs and what not that match.

Excuse the party decor from ds2's recent birthday.

@ladybee: Walmart had those presentation foam backboards. I cut it down into 8 pieces. I think the entire board was $8. I read online it was best to paint to the edge on three sides and white edge at the bottom so you can compare the color against white.

So painting the whole house is not an option right now. I think we are comfortable doing an accent for the room instead of another neutral we have to coordinate.

@MamaG: Thanks. We are meeting with our painter hopefully next week so if I get my list narrowed down maybe I can see if he can get the samples from SW for me.

@QBbride: Thanks. Yes, if we can't find a painter to do the whole house in the time/budget we need, I may just go this route. Plus it gives me a chance to "try out" a color before totally committing to every hallway, room, etc.

@winniebee: @MamaG: Thanks! Agreeable is for sure a sample I want to try out. I think it may be a bit more neutral and a bit lighter than the normal Revere Pewter

We love BM Revere Pewter for a greige or BM Stonington Grey or Grey Owl for a Grey.

@T.H.O.U.: FWIW, our Sherwin Williams advised against getting color samples from Lowes/Home Depot. She said when they try to color match in their small samples they can't get the accurate color. Something about breaking the color ratio down that small. Sherwin Williams samples are a little more expensive ($5 I think) and larger, quart. If your painter uses Sherwin Williams you can buy with your painters discount and get them for about $3.

Apparently Edgecomb is just lighter than Revere but revere does have extra green.

We are actually using Egdecomb Gray in our family room, and it is really nice, but I feel like it might be too light for your accent walls with that beige... but something the same tone but darker would be great! I agree that the Revere Pewter might have some green undertones even though it is warm.

@Littlebit7: Yes! I just bought foam board the other night. I need to go to lowes and get them color match their samples into maybe 3-4 colors I"m interested in and then hire the painter! The hardest part is going to be deciding on the paint color before we live in the house.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Thank you! Its going to feel very different from our ranch with 8' ceilings. I hadn't thought about splitting up the room like that but I kinda like that idea. I was hesitant to put too much color in that dining room area because we have a wood table with a cast iron base that I love and want the table to shine.

@T.H.O.U.: edgecomb really is neutral. I have it in rooms that get a lot of light and zero light and it always looks good. We have warm floors and white trim and it looks great. I'd say it runs more warm than cold though, it will never look green or blue. I think it is the perfect Greige. I put it and a few others you've mentioned up on big pieces of white poster board. It was amazing to see them in huge swatches and really helpful. Greys tha tlooked great on the chip looked awful in some rooms. Good luck and congrats!

@T.H.O.U.: your new home is lovely! I miss FL homes. If the front room is going to be a playroom I'd just go with a light, but fun color in that room like @Avicoca: palladium blue. Then, paint the dinning room BM Swiss Coffee. It's a creamy white that reminds me of Fixer Upper when they do warmer tones instead of Greige.

@Littlebit7: I may have to look at that. Do you know how it compares to those other two?

The only reason I was leaning towards agreeable is that Ive heard Revere can run with some green undertones. Because there is a lot of orange/red in the floors/cabinets, I dont want too much green to contrast with that.

ETA - Based on this review maybe Edgecomb would be a good choice over Revere. https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/colour-review-edgecomb-gray-benjamin-moore/

Lowes and Home Depot have plenty of shades. We got these for a sconce in the bathroom basement. They had a ton of shades to choose from. I would think that they would fit in the chandelier.

@T.H.O.U.: We just painted our master Agreeable Grey. We have beige/tan carpet and tiles. The color reads for beige to me rather than grey because of the flooring. I like it a lot, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting but I didn't factor the flooring into the image.
