@littlejoy: I understand because we room shared for 6 months! He was in his crib next to our bed and could see me! Not sure if your baby can see you when you’re sleeping around that time? Yes it’s hard to hear them cry but it decreases quickly. my lo will cry at times but he can get himself back to sleep most of the time. I hope you can find a resolution soon. It may just be for a short period.

Some kids just don't sleep well (for a while, for one reason or another). We tried every trick in the book and my son could scream for hours and hours and hours.

For the sake of my sanity, and because he clearly had separation anxiety, I would nurse him whenever he woke up. He went from 2-8 wakeups per night (usually averaging 3-4) to none overnight the week he turned one. Developmentally he just wasn't ready, I knew he'd start sleeping when he could and that's held true. It was so much quicker to nurse him for 5 mins and get us both back to sleep than to let him cry. It took me months to figure that out. He does have the odd night occasionally (teething, sickness) where he will wake up sometime in the middle, but usually he sleeps from 8-6 or so.

Sorry I don't have better advice, but I have found that nature's pacifier has been an absolute lifesaver. Good luck! I hope you find the magic ticket.

@cake2017: I should have mentioned that we room share - a small room. Ugh. If she wakes at 9:30-10, I'm usually not in the room, but the 10:30 or 11 wake up is hard. We don't have the option to not room share.

Ferber is what. most people describe as CIO, so that's what we're doing. It's just this tricky wake up. :(

LOs bedtime is between 630-730pm every night. I don’t go in the nursery before 1am. This helped a lot when I set a time and if he cries before 1am he CIO until he falls back to sleep. He sleeps straight through but will wake for one feeding around 330am. I am totally fine with nursing once during the night. So CIO may be the method to try. Hopefully this won’t disturb the other one. Sound machines for both kids maybe? It could be a growth spurt, hungry, teething or some extra attention?! ...

We're about a month into sleep training, and we're 98% there. We had an illness during weeks 2-3, so we had to do a little reset. Everything is going well, baby falls asleep independently, and is bridging her sleep cycles.

My issue is a new wake-up at night. She's waking most nights around 10:30 (6:45-7:15 bedtime). She was making it until 3-4am before waking to eat.

We did Ferber training, but really more of an extinction method, because after a week, we found that check-ins were pissing her off. Baby is 6 months old. We have another kiddo in the house, so it is a bit hard to manage this wake up, as baby is LOUD. Any ideas?
