Is it nightmares? My 22 month old gets one every night. If it's before midnight laying with him in his room helps. If it's after I'm asleep I just bring him to bed and he goes right back to sleep

We're going through this too. DD is also 21 months. I've been sleeping with her the last couple of days.

Teething, growth spurt (dd wakes up hungry), or just messed up sleep from any holiday travel?? I think it's a combo of those things at our house

Probably a delayed 18 month sleep regression.

We went through it and just rode it out. We ended up putting him in our bed so we could attempt to get more sleep. It went away as quickly as it appeared.

Could she be getting her two year molars? My just turned 2 year old has been acting similar- wanting me to hold her all the time, crying when I leave the room, and waking up earlier and refusing to settle. She has also woken up overnight several times which she usually doesn’t do. I can feel her molars are coming in plus I think maybe there is a normal extra clingy phase around this age.

My 21 month old has been a great night sleeper since she turned one. Her bedtime is 6:30 pm and she usually wakes up 7-8 am. I know that's a lot of nighttime sleep but she's always been a terrible napper. She takes one 45 min-1 hr long nap per day.

The last few mornings she's been waking up between 4:30-5:30 am screaming bloody murder (and won't go back to sleep). She usually wakes up happily and lays in her crib until we go get her. She's also refusing to nap unless we hold her. This is likely unrelated but she's been wanting me to hold her constantly the last few days.

What's going on? Anyone experience/suggestions? Is there a sleep regression around this age?

ETA - we've never done any type of sleep training with her and would prefer to avoid it.
