@Sparkler: @Dandelion: Ooh new toys! I will have to pick some up this weekend and give it a try. And she's always hated hair washing so maybe a hair washing strike will help. Thank you!

@Mamaof2: I hate hearing her cry like that :crying:

Take her shopping for tub toys. Bath paint, all the fun stuff. Let her pick out stuff for the tub.

We dealt with this and ended bathing with our LO for 3ish months:( I think doing some baths without hair washing helps ease fears too. And bubble guppies bath squirters:)

@T.H.O.U.: Those are some good ideas! I'm going to try getting in the tub with her tonight and see if that helps.

@Mamaof2: This is good to know it will just go away! I'm afraid of being THAT mom with the dirty kid who never wants to bath LOL. So it just stopped one day? Did you continue to try bathing her through the crying?

@bhbee: Hmm you know... she has been a bit more clingy / jumpy lately. Hopefully it's a stage. Usually bath time is such a joy and she is such a ham while she imagines cooking or something!

I don't know why this happens but I've heard some options like offering showers, getting into the tub with them, playing in the tub without water, etc.

Not sure how old your LO is but my DD went thru a phase like that too - around age 2 - it lasted 3 weeks! We tried bubbles, fizzies, snacks - she wanted no part of the bath. Then it just stopped and she was fine again -

We just had this and initially a switch to bubble bath got her excited again. Now it seems to be back though. I am seeing a lot of fears lately (little things like sidewalk vents even) so I'm guessing developmental phase of some type - LO just turned 2.

@JoJoGirl:  Hopefully someone can help us. It's the most terrifying cry sound! But she was filthy and I needed to bath her.

I need some help! Last week my daughter told me mid-week that she didn't want a bath one night, so I thought it was just a one off and said it was ok to skip for a night. The night after we bathed her but she wanted out ASAP where she would normally want to play forever. Same thing over the weekend and last night, she screamed bloody murder the whole time and refused to sit! She just cried and cried and cried the entire time, clinging onto my neck as I tried to wash her down. It wasn't a tantrum type cry but it really sounded as if she was terrified. We recently started really potty training her by bringing her to the bathroom every 30-60 minutes (she's peed!) - could this be too much and she's not ready? Is she afraid of the bathroom? Any parents have experience with sudden bath terror syndrome?!?!
