@bees_knees: yeah I can definitely see how that would help. My friends 5 year can unbuckle herself in the frontier so it’s possible! But I think mom still has to get her buckles and my friend has admitted she thinks she might not tighten the straps enough.

@JennyPenny: I agree about struggling with tightening! I think that part of it is that I chronically over tighten all of my children 🙈 But I also read that of the Frontier is flush to the back of the vehicle seat, it can make it hard to tighten (which makes sense). I need to check how our’s looks!

@Foodnerd81: DS1 is in the third row and I have two younger boys that buckle/unbuckle so it was a huge help when he could do it himself! I agree it’s hard to buckle when it’s already tight!

My 5 year old doesn’t loosen the harness either, but she can’t buckle or unbuckle herself- I never tried with the tool since I can just turn around and unbuckle her from my seat then she climbs out the passenger side if we are parked on the street. She can definitely get the straps on and off her shoulders without lossening them. But it’s hard to buckle when they are already tight.

I even struggle to tighten the harness on our frontier. We just leave the harness the same tightness and my 4.5 year old does fine getting in and out of it by himself. So, no real help except I think he’d be fine if you can convince him he doesn’t need to loosen/tighten it :bummed:

We just switched DS1 (4.5) into a Britax Frontier CT. He was buckling/unbuckling himself in his Chicco MyFit thanks to the UnbuckleMe tool but is having a hard time in the Frontier because the harness loosening mechanism thingie is basically kid proof. Anyone know of a tool (similar to the UnbuckleMe) or something to help him loosen the harness? Or ideas? I’m trying to convince him he doesn’t actually need to loosen/tighten every single trip but 🤷🏻‍♀️
