@Little Misters Mom: no joke about being so tired! I am totally dysfunctional - I went upstairs twice today to turn off the baby monitor carmera because I forgot I did it the first time!

@CakeLady: I wonder if it might be separation anxiety? My LO started the inconsolable screaming at night/bedtime due to separation anxiety around 8 months. It was rough! At night, I just brought him into bed with us.

For naps, however, I started putting him in his crib with some books and toys, would quickly give him a kiss and happily say to him to have a good nap and walk out. He screamed the first few times, and I would go back in and do the process over. I read that they just want reassurance you will come back! It did get better, and hope it does for you soon too.

4 month sleep regression would be my guess.
Ours lasted 2 months. If bed sharing is wha works then just go for it would be my advice. You gotta do what you gotta do. Eventually they will learn to sleep on their own through the night! We didn't sleep train, but eventually one night she just went from 4-5 night wakings where I had to nurse her to sleep to her typical 1-2.

No advice, just commiseration. DS will be 5 months on Friday and we're going through the exact same thing. Used to easily go back down, now it's a mess. Used to wake up 0 or 1 times, now it's multiple.

We had to sleep train at 3 months to get to put him down drowsy but awake (used to bounce him down). Not sure he is ready to night wean yet. No clue what to do but oh my God I am so tired.

DS generally does quite well at bedtime - we put him down drowsy but awake after a consistent bedtime routine and he falls asleep on his own most nights. However, he wakes up in the middle of the night between 2 and 5 times. He screams and is totally inconsolable. When we finally can get him to settle down either with rocking or nursing, he starts screaming again the instant we put him back in his crib, whether he is awake or asleep when we put him down. Wake ups which used to take 10 minutes now take 30 min-1 hour and we often just give up and bring him to our bed. (Which I know is making the problem worse...)

He is 5 months old. We haven't done any sleep training except for establishing a good bedtime routine. Naps are also a disaster. This has been going on for 6+ weeks and getting worse. He has been to the doctor multiple times - no ear infection, no cold, may be teething but tylenol doesn't help...

Is sleep training the answer? If you successfully sleep trained - particularly for MOTN - what method did you use?

So sleep deprived hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance for any advice!
