@Smurfette: yup, i let it warm her bed up and then took it out right before I laid her down - obviously just make sure it doesn't get *too* hot :)

@Mrs. Blue: Haha, so what brand are they? Just soothie? Although she did take the pacifier this morning. I just wish she took it regularly.

@sorrycharlie: I wonder if it is a comfort/ warmth thing. So would we just put the heating pad in the RnP to warm up while getting her down and then take it out when she goes to bed?

hmm do you think it's a comfort thing? maybe she likes something on her belly? when LO was a newborn I tried the heating pad in her bed before setting her down and it helped her transition in and stay asleep.

I have no advice on the sleep part because ours don't even sleep 2 hours consistently. :( But, on the pacifier thing, our boys wouldn't keep them in their mouths until I bought some iPod the vanilla scented soothies. I swear something about the vanilla must be crack for babies because both boys immediately we to town on those and now they are better (not perfect, but better) with regular pacifiers, too.

@runsyellowlites: I don't think I can do side nursing cause of her reflux.
@Mrs. High Heels: That gives me hope. She did go almost three hours before the 2nd feeding tonight, so some progress!
@NaturallyCathy: thanks! I am just so ready for one good stretch of sleep. It would make a huge difference. But I guess I need to just be thankfully for what we are getting.

I don't have any advice other than hang in there, things will get better. She'll be set in one routine and then the next day, do something completely uncharacteristic even though you've done nothing new. Then she'll get it in her head to change it up on you again just when you start to adjust. We just have to hang in thete and ride these waves.

I have no advice, but I feel your pain! At 4 weeks, J was also waking up every 2-hours like clockwork. Sometimes my husband would also bring him to our bed and have him sleep on his chest to get us longer stretches of sleep. For the most part though, I pretty much fed him every 2-hours round the clock. He is now 7 weeks and finally starting to stretch out his sleep to 3-4 hours. That extra hour or two sure makes a difference!

It'll get better soon!! Hang in there.

Hmmmm we co-bed after night wakings so I don't think I'm of any help. Lol! She seems to get some good sleep stretches in so I think she's doing great! Remember that biologically & physiologically we were designed to wake often AND stay close to our parents. =/

Side lying nursing has literally saved my life & sanity. lol

R is one month old. She usually will sleep around 2 hours when we first put her down. DH will hear her starting to stir and pick her up. If he gets to her before she cries, he can lay down with her in bed and she will sleep on his chest.

Tonight we finally got her down and the RnP at 1030, DH got her at 1230, and then she slept till 2. So that was a good stretch of sleep, only we aren't sleeping that whole time. I usually wake up when DH is getting back in bed with her.

What can we do to keep her asleep in the RnP instead on DH??? He says he is fine with doing it so I can get more sleep but I would rather him get sleep too.

She doesn't really the pacifier. Rare occasion we can get her to take it.
