We just went through this a couple weeks ago. I kept the cool most humidifier on all night, gave her Zarbee's (nighttime w melatonin), baby Vicks, and ibuprofen. I think a combination of everything made her *slightly* more comfortable so she could at least get a few hours of sleep.

We do bed elevating on one side.
Steam bath with a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a bowl.
Cool mist humidifier with a few steps of eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus helps break down congestion.
Nose frida right after steam bath to get rid of boogers. Sometimes the coughing is because of post nasal drip.
Matys all natural vapor rub on bottom of feet.

This usually does the trick for my girls to allow them to sleep.

Hope he gets some sleep tonight!

Oh I'm sorry to hear! It's so sad when they are up coughing. We have had to deal with this a few times with my 2 year old this winter.

I have tried Zarbee's but I feel like it didn't do anything. Here's what we do with a cough:
- elevate one side of crib a bit
- steam and bath right before bed to clear
- saline spray before bath if mucusy to help clear
- maty's/Vicks on feet
- and sometimes we give a little Tylenol depending on the cough which can sometimes help
Good luck! Hopefully last night was the worst of it.

LO is almost two and is really having a rough go with nighttime coughing. Last night he was up all night :(

Any suggestions for how to ease the coughing? We've been putting baby Vicks on his feet and giving him Zarbee's honey cough syrup but it didn't help much :(
