I also get it on my ring finger, super itchy and takes forever to go away. I finally saw a dermatologist and she gave a steroid cream for it and suggested using lotion daily and more natural soap. I thought it was an allergy to my ring, it is not. And the biggest thing she said was not to use the hand sanitizer, the kind everyone has on their desk at work or has a little bottle of in their purse, it is a huge trigger.

@gotkimchi: @Mrs. Sunshine: samesies. I get similar on my ring finger. They are very itchy and take forever to go away... of course I don't have anything to treat it with. I just stopped wearing my rings on that hand.

@gotkimchi: me too. Mine is usually in between my fingers, typically my ring finger and only in the summer.

I'd keep an eye on it but don't think it's contagious.

Thanks everyone for all your responses. @charm55 @raspberry We had a heatwave mon/tues and he was at summer school so it could be heat rash. I also agree with @cobee that he might be not rinsing off the soap well after hand washing. I just put some hydrocortisone and lots of vanicream so hopefully it will improve tomorrow. He’s not complaining of itch or pain anymore, just thay 1 time this morning.

It was just this crazy allergymama anxiety of mine. Thanks all for easing my fears. 💜😀

That looks like dyshidrotic eczema. I have it and I’ve done the following to control flare ups:

1. Switch to milder soap - no antibacterial and no SLS if possible.
2. Put a hydrating lotion next to sink and apply it after every hand washing.
3. Steroid cream (prescription strength may be needed)

My daughter has eczema and gets a heat rash like that on her hands and feet every now and then. I do too when I go down south and the rays are really strong.

What’s the weather been like lately? To me it looks like heat rash more than eczema.

Thanks! You girls are always the best at easing my anxiety. He does have mild eczema but I’ve never seen anything like that on his fingers, it’s always on his legs now and cheeks when he was younger. Going to slather vanicream and hydrocortisone tonight and hope it’s better tomorrow.

I get bumps like these but if you pop them they’re filled with pus and mine is always related to an allergy - ie touching jewelry

ETA they itch like a mofo

My 7 year old gets excema that looks really similar to this on her hands and fingers every once in a while. Usually just on one finger or spot too, and I’m pretty sure it happens when she doesn’t get all the soap off a spot on her hands when washing them. We use a good layer of hydrocortisone twice a day for a few days and keep it moisturized and it usually does the trick. Fingers crossed it’s something “easy” like this!

TLDR: is it contagious? See pics below

This morning My 6 y/o said his finger hurt. I asked what happened. He said he didn’t know. I took a look at it and asked if he scratched it. He said yes, and when I scratch it, it hurts. I washed his hands w soap. Put some Benadryl cream and bandaged it and sent him to school. I put the bandaid so he wouldnt scratch it some more.

I asked to see it afterschool and he said the bandaid fell off. The tiny bumps are still there but it looks slightly better.

I’m just worried it’s contagious. Dd is going thru OIT so I have so much anxiety about her catching stuff. I checked his entire body and nothing. Just that left index finger.
