We did rice cereal first for about two weeks, then oatmeal. Then I started with apple purée, squash, ad pears (separately), and mixed into the oatmeal. It was a long process but LO is a great eater!

I would keep pushing the veggies! Try mixing in some of the rice cereal with each new item. Do a half/half mixture at first until she seems to tolerate it well. A little bit of reflux or spitting up is still normal at this stage. The main thing to watch for as far as sensitivities to foods is concerned, would be a rash of some sort. She may not like the veggies very much at first, but keep pushing them! The sooner she gets used to veggies over fruit, the better. After she gets used to the veggies, try introducing her to fruits and sweeter items in small quantities. :) I hope this helps!

I would also not stress...maybe try apples or banana? Those are pretty mild. But I also think some tummyvtroubles are normal as their digestive systems get used to food...my Lo had some gas/constipation for a week or so. I would also intro water around now to avoi that!

@highwire: I had this idea that solids would help her sleep through the night (it didn't) which is probably why i pushed it on her earlier than she was ready for. We went through bad constipation issues from 6-7 months and i felt so bad! Of course, i think it's good to continue giving her tastes here and there, but not worry if she doesn't take more than a spoonful.

And I agree with @Freckles: about taking it slowly. My LO didn't eat more than a spoonful at a sitting for weeks.

I would just keep trying. It's very normal for their tummies to be a little sensitive to food... They have to figure it all out! Maybe you could start doing oatmeal with some purées mixed in? Then you could adjust the amount of purée as necessary.

Does she show any interest in solids? I wouldn't be too worried. When LO was starting off on solids, i think i went a bit overboard trying to get her to try all these foods (mainly because of everyone who seemed to be doing BLW). I would take baby steps, maybe once a day offer her a taste (spoonful) of this and that, and if she doesn't want any more then not to push it. As she gets older, she may show more interest.

LO is pushing 7 months now and eats rice cereal pretty much as her only solid.

We tried pea purree a couple of weeks ago and then she got sick so I didn't want to give her anything new. Then we tried sweet potato purree yesterday and her tummy has been messed up since. I'd rather not keep bothering her digestive system with foods that bother her! I'm nervous to keep trying things, but want her to start getting more types of foods in her. I'm not sure what to do here.
