I'd love to wean my LO of the paci too, especially because she has found her thumb but hasn't been able to use it to self-soothe in her crib. It's so tiring to constantly have to put her pacifier back in her mouth.

Anybody? Anybody?

My DS does the same thing! He takes his paci out then gets frustrated and starts tugging on his ears which further infuriates him :/ I'll be following this thread closely.

LO is 4 months old and sleep is our biggest obstacle. We've been working really hard to take away sleep props one by one and so far have had great success with getting her to sleep on her own without our help. Our next goals are weaning her from her swaddle and paci.

Right now we're trying to get her to sleep with an arm or both arms out of her swaddle. Getting her to relax and drift off without it is the hardest part but we're making progress, once asleep she's fine. Our biggest challenge is when she does have an arm out, she ALWAYS rips her paci out and starts to cry. While I do want to wean her of her paci too, she only uses it for naps so I'm not in a huge rush.

How did you get your little one to stop taking their paci out once their arms were free? Did you just go cold turkey without a paci too? Any tips on making this a smoother process are appreciated!
