I'm sure we all know what they look like but just in case seeing it changes anyone's advice...

The tiny paintbrush / no sanding route is my plan so far I think....

We don't have a lot of marks, and they aren't terribly noticeable (medium toned wood) so I was just planning to leave it. Hopefully baby #2 doesn't really eat his or her crib either.

I'm just going to cover it up with a teething rail.

I just touched it up with a tiny artist's paintbrush. No sanding. It doesn't look perfect, but it looks worlds better than it did before. The touch up isn't noticeable unless you look really closely.

I have not tried this yet myself and there may be better suggestions, but I would treat it almost as if I was touching up paint on a car. I would do the touch up paint by applying multiple really thin coats. Doing it that way I don't think you would need to sand anything, but if you do just lightly sand the whole area.

I heard rubbing walnuts on wood takes out marks.

I'm also following. My current plan is to have MIL make a fabric cover for the crib rail to cover LO1's marks and prevent LO2's.

We are transitioning LO1 to a toddler bed and using his crib for LO2. There are a few bite marks on one of the railings where the white paint has come off.

I have some non-toxic/no VOC/ baby safe paint to touch it up BUT I need your help as I am not much of a furniture painter or DIYer!

Do I need to sand around the little patch of bite marks or the whole rail, or not at all? Any other tips or ideas for the best way to do this? Thanks!!

...oh and I can provide a picture of the area that needs to be fixed once DS wakes up, if needed!
