yeah I think most babies do this, as long as their head is supported it should be fine. Some people believe this is bad for their knees but i'm pretty sure its a myth

A has ALWAYS been obsessed with standing. Though, I'm not a medical expert, we helped him stand at a super young age and used the jumperoo/exersaucer at 12 weeks (with cushions and supervision of course) and we've never had any issues with milestones, motor skills, etc.

@lawbee11: My LO just went for her 2 month check up and our pediatrician had her "stand" and even checked to see if she would "walk".

She LOVES to stand. It's one of her favorite positions. And she was ahead of what the pediatrician expected for development, so maybe it even helps?

All of my babies loved doing that, Charlie started a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure if it helps walking though, Cameron walked on his first Birthday and Maddy walked at ten months. We will be getting another jumperoo too, I think we started Maddy at 4 months.

DD is 2 months too and loves when I let her stand. I am shocked at how much she can support herself. Its like I am just there for stability sometimes!

We NEVER did this (my family taught me not to) and now guess what? My son is 12 and is no where *near* walking and hardly cruises, haha. So, now that I read pp experiences, I'm starting to think we should've done it ;)

Same as PPs, J started doing this early on and was also early to stand & walk (standing just before 7, cruising at 8 months, walking by 10).

Just like PPs I know that we did this with E around that age because he loved it and it made him really happy. He also was early on his physical milestones related to standing/walking.

R was the same way! My MIL is a doctor and said it is fine as long as you are holding the weight. Does that make sense?

R is 7 months and now pulls herself up standing. And will take a couple steps with a walker or holding onto the coffee table.

Medically I also don't know but we also did this with LO (she's always been very strong) and has also hit her milestones on the early side. She pulled up to stand at 7 months and at 8 months, she's cruising around furniture. In our experience, I don't think it was detrimental in any way.

Medically I don't know, but we did this with E at that age (maybe even starting a few weeks sooner). We supported a lot of the weight through our hands (as it sounds like you do as well). We haven't had any problems, and he's hit physical milestones (like pulling up and walking) on the early side.

M's legs have recently gotten super strong. She is constantly pushing off of me with them. I have discovered that she loves when I help her "stand." I hold her upper body and she stands on my lap or on the couch. She smiles the entire time and when I make her sit she starts crying.

I guess I am just worried that if I do it too much it's putting too much weight on her knees and ankles since she's only two months old? Or is it the opposite and I should do it as often as she wants cause it's helping to build those muscles?
