@mrsrain

I actually went and got acupuncture twice last week. They put the needles in at the labor inducing points and it didn’t work 😩

When I was facing possible induction due to hypertension my midwives sent me to get a massage with permission for her to hit labor-inducing points. I went into labor that night! Maybe you could try that? Or even try hitting somebif those acupressure points yourself?

I know you said you're scared of castor oil, but I used the gentle dosing method and it worked. I took about one ounce shaken in a few ounces of cold orange juice mid afternoon, then another at dinner, and another at bedtime. I woke up in labor around midnight and had the baby that morning. I went to the bathroom a few extra times that afternoon /evening but nothing dramatic. Highly recommend!

@misolee: i pumped twice in the days before my son was born! Got some decent colostrum i froze actually. i was super not happy about it by that point but maybe it helped! I also saw the chiro the day my labor finally started for real (they specialized in pregnant women and i jokingly told them to make it happen) - probably didn’t make a difference but maybe helped him come fast.

Did your Dr sweep your membranes? That worked for both my pregnancies. I delivered like a day later. I also took primrose oil for the last couple of weeks. I can imagine how annoying it feels being a good week past your date. Good luck! You won’t be pregnant forever!

@misolee: you can eat them plain or in recipes. I did bacon wrapped dates and goat cheese with dates, among other things. Trader Joe’s seems to always have them, but they seem to be seasonal a lot of other places.

@icedtea @birdofafeather How do u eat the dates? Like plain?
@chitownro yea. I’m wary of trying that too. I also have major digestive problems even before pregnancy so castor oil scares me.

@nana87 great idea. Haven’t tried squats.

@desertdreams88 @2littlepumpkins @pinkb @periwinklebee thanks for the suggestions.

More nipple stimulation. It's the only things my 2 OBs said was evidence based, and it's the only thing that gave me contractions both times naturally. With LO1 I was induced at 41+1, and with LO2 my water broke at 38+6. This was about 45 minutes after nursing LO1 and getting crampy. I was nursing LO1 about 3x a day for only about 5min each time since about 32 weeks.

Started commenting but it got deleted, oops. Just sending labor vibes your way. I was in a lot of pain with my third the last month or two and it was really hard to chase the other two around (my oldest is also 5.5!) during that time. And I didn't even go overdue so I can only imagine. Hope you get an "easy labor" to compensate. ❤️

What about yoga? Like, poses where you're in a nice, deep squat? I was induced with lo2 at 41 weeks, and spent most of my labor doing cat/cow poses either on hands and knees or kneeling over the bed and it definitely made her labor down more efficiently

foot acupressure and eating a bunch of dates? my first two were quick and a few days before my due date, but i have heard that third births are a wild card and can go totally differently, so i might be in your shoes in 7 weeks!

My first was DD was born at 36 weeks. DS was 40 weeks. I had a second or 3rd membrane sweep at exactly 40 weeks with DS (I had been done for awhile at that point he was such a big baby). I had read for a sweep to really work the dr would need to go to the second knuckle. Meaning half of their finger needs to be past the cervix (to the second knuckle) to get a good separation between the placenta and uterus. The midwife did not mess around. I was already 3cm I think at that point. But I left and walked the mall. Was super crampy and just kept walking. Cramps turned to contractions and had DS that night. Good luck!

I'm 41 weeks on Monday. Seriously so over this pregnancy..

For some history, I was induced with my first at 41+1 and over 24 hours later it led to csec. This was 5.5 years ago. My second came at 38 weeks...labor was super fast. Like contractions to baby being in my arms in 3 hours. This was 2 years ago.

Now with my 3rd, we were sort of expecting a fast delivery. Everyone and their mom told me their story of the 3rd child coming fast, etc so we've been actively waiting since like 37 weeks. I have been pregnant FOREVER! Because of my previous csec, I cannot be induced so the doctor wants me to wait as long as I can before another repeat surgery. She's confident that bc I had a med free vbac 2 years earlier, I can have still have a natural birth. She's willing to let me go to close to 42 weeks.

We have tried everything!! spicy food, mexican food, acupuncture, bouncing on yoga ball, walks, pineapple, clary sage essential oils, pineapple, nipple stimulation, membrane sweep twice,etc. My husband I even did BD twice. There's a local eggplant Parmesan dish that's famous for inducing labor and we even made a trek out there to eat it. Nothing is working, I'm still pregnant and miserable.

Last Thursday, I was 3.5 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and having minor contractions according to NST. These numbers sound promising but it's been like that for awhile.

No real question. Anyone have similar stories?
