Try Ching Wan Hung burn ointment. Sounds crazy, but that stuff is awesome!

I was told that 'labor rhoids don't go away very easily. In fact, the older lady that shared this said that she and all of her friends ended up getting surgery once they were done having kids because they would flare up so easily. Like, flare up when they would pick up their 3 year old kind of easy.

@highwire: Try more fiber. I didn't get any hemms during pregnancy (thought I had one, once, but didn't) and I attribute it to the fact that I ate fiberone or fiber plus bars daily. Right now I have 1 hemm and am still trying to eat a fiber bar every day, just to make sure things stay smooth.

@oahujeni: ha I got a notification that you had tagged me in this thread and I thought "oh god I wrote this thread two weeks ago and I'm still struggling"

I went back on my stool softeners and that has helped as well as committing to staying hydrated. But I'm not 100% healed yet

Well this sounds just awful :( Sorry to hear about the hems. I'm 34 weeks so I have no advice. But does anyone care to share their input on stuff to stock up on before delivery? I bought some generic senna tablets (stool softener) and Tucks pads, but should I have anything else in my stash of PP care items?

So sorry! Eat lots of fruit! I ate bowls of chopped fruit with just about every meal for the first few weeks postpartum. I actually had to stop the stool softener because the combination was working TOO well. Not the only answer obv, but might help in conjunction with the other remedies.

I felt like I was pooping glass last night, and I think it was a combination of third trimester fun + slacking off on my Fiber One regiment. Also I haven't been on my feet much and even short walks help immensely. I have posted a couple of different hemorrhoid threads and the best advice I've gotten is to eat Fiber One cereal (the original kind--a bowl has like 57% of your daily fiber needs). I usually have a small bowl in the morning and one at night and have been regular with no pooping pain ever since I started (except for yesterday, but I ran out of cereal!). It won't soothe butt nuts you already have but it will prevent future ones and keep the old ones from flaring up!

ETA: I didn't notice having any issues during my pregnancy. Mine were all pp.

I was still bleeding after a bm at 10 weeks out! I would hate myself if I forgot to take stool softener! Sure as heck can't hurt to keep taking it. After about 10 weeks I stopped bleeding, but I stil have butt pain sitting down fr a long time and I'm 4 months pp...but it has gotten soooo much better.

@highwire: did you ever find relief? I'm 3 weeks pp and having the same issues you did. "Pooping glass" is actually a mild way to put it -- this is worse than labor!

I took colace until like 4 weeks pp...I definitely think it helped. You can also try taking a probiotic which should help things move along more easily. Also, do you have a removeable shower head? You can try spraying them directly with cold water--that helps them shrink a bit. And kind of feels funny! :)

I am 8weeks pp and still taking the Colace (stool softener) twice a day.... Asked my doc about it and she said to stick with it.... A few of my girlfriends told me to do this and said they took it until about 12 -16 weeks pp!

@highwire: aw I'm sorry. Hems sucks. Eat a lot of fiber. Apples are good and I like to throw some ground flax seed in my cereal or oatmeal for an extra boost of fiber. I think the stool softener helped me.

I would still continue the stool softeners if you don't want to do the laxative but I ended up having to take Phillips laxative and it helped a TON! I only went maybe twice that day so it wasn't like I was going excessively. Drink lots of water and keep using the Tucks. I actually put the Tucks in my underwear and left it between bathroom trips. That helped soothe it too. Good luck I know it's rough :(

I didn't get any until 3 weeks pp. In fact 3 weeks pp was WAY worse than the 2nd week! weird...

I used lots of tucks, and the bottom spray from earth mama angel baby which was amazing and really sped along my healing. I took quite a few herbal baths as well.

Oh and taking walks REALLY helped because it meant less time sitting and exacerbating the hemms.

I cried everytime going #2 :( I'm so sorry!!!!

I had hemorrhoids a little bit while pregnant, but nothing happened during delivery and I was going pain free a week later. Now, at 3.5 weeks PP it feels like I am pooping glass. And I'm bleeding (and crying) after everytime I go.

Working on staying hydrated better, using Tucks, Dermoplast, and Preparation H wipes and cream. Any other advice?

I was taking a stool softener but my doc said that is useless and to do Milk of Magnesia/laxative instead. But I'm scared to intentionally make myself go more frequently since it hurts so much, so I haven't taken any of that yet.

Please help me!
