As long as it's easily reducible (you can push it back without problem) then it should be fine. Definitely consult with your ped, but the typical wisdom is that they give it until age 5 before they consider an intervention.

@MUI831: @anonysquire: that's one I've never heard of! I was wondering how on earth they got a marble to stay on a wiggly baby with just a bandaid :)

My lo has one but not that big. I dont want to scare you, but id be a little concerned if it was growing rather than shrinking.
My lo's was smaller but visible at birth. Has now almost dissappeared

my neighbors daughter had one and they put a marble on it and held it there with a bandaid. I think they did this for a month or two and it kind of went away. I think it's an old wifes tale though lol!

@MUI831: Thanks for sharing! It doesn't seem to bother him so I haven't been too worried. Glad to hear your nephews has gone away and that your DS's is shrinking.

My nephew had one about that size and I know his went away in the first year. DS has one too. It just popped up one day around 8 w. Although, it's not as big and seems to be shrinking. He's 15w right now. It doesn't bother him at all. I talked to my ped about it too and she said that there's really nothing they can do about them unless it hasn't healed by the time they're 5 or something. I'm sure it will shrink down for you too.

DS has a herniated belly button which has gotten much larger over the past few weeks. Just wondering if anyone else's child had this and how long did it last? Did it seem to bother your LO at all?
We are going to the ped on Friday so I'll make sure to ask her about it then!
