I think at 6, it's likely she'll be able to sit correctly without the extra reminder that the high back gives, but depending on her size, the belt may not fit correctly. </p> <p>We just switched my 6 year old to a booster and opted for one without a back. If he doesn't sit all the way back against the seat and up straight then the shoulder belt doesn't fit quite right. The booster came with a belt positioning strap for the shoulder strap and I may start using that, but I sort of wish I would have gone with a high back booster. </p> <p>Also consider the length of your typical car ride. In dh’s sedan my taller 6yo only needs the bottom - the angle of the seatbelt is just right and the seat back supports her. In my car (which also has a third row with weird belt geometry) she needs a high back in both 2nd and 3rd rows for a good fit. She also spends a lot more time in my car and it’s nice to have the headrests of the high back.</p> <p>ETA we have graco for bottom booster. For high back I need the evenflo big kid booster for my weird belts in third row. It’s a high back booster but the back can also be taken off. We want her little sister to start using that soon so we need to get her a new booster. Ideally I want one that is not as bulky as the Frontier. Which one do you have? Is it a high back or backless? </p>
