Another thing my LO loves is date balls. It's basically 1 1/3 cup pitted dates, 1 cup of nuts/seeds, and a splash of vanilla mixed together in the food processor and rolled into balls. They're a fave of DH's too!

Avocados, olive oil, butter, eggs, cream cheese...

My LO loves protein pancakes:

4 eggs
1 cup oats
1 cup cottage cheese or Greek yogurt
1 banana
You can also add avocado, spinach, etc. and use almond or coconut milk to thin the mix. Blend it all together and make pancakes!

What fruits and veggies will he eat? My LO eats a banana every morning so that really sticks to her. She also still likes these "pouches" from Happy Tot (spinach, mango, pear). http://www.amazon.com/Happy-Organic-Spinach-4-22-Ounce-Pouches/dp/B0030VJ79Q

My LO loves ground beef so meatloaf and tacos are good. She has also really been into soups which is surprising but you can really add up some calories there.

@BabyBoecksMom: we have everything was dairy based and he's not keen on it. He was MSPI so we just introduced dairy and did a good job not letting him have it lol.

@caffeinated: soy is out. He is still reactive to soy. Which is why he started losing weight in the first place.

Can he eat soy? I would suggest tofu, as it is high in protein.
I agree with pp, seeing a registered dietitian would be a good idea.

What about avocado or eggs? I know you said he doesn't like dairy, but what about cheese? Maybe cut into fun shapes?

@brownie: I don't have any advice but have you thought about going to see a nutritionist? They know a lot more about what foods would meet that criteria and might be able to map out something for you.

My son is 20 months old and weighs 21 pounds. He is diagnosed as failure to thrive. Originally from MSPI. We have started him on dairy again with no reactions (yay!) but he doesn't like dairy. He is still breastfed 4 times a night but we have weaned from the lunchtime feeding.

What I need are ideas for high calorie foods. I am not sure I want to add too much to foods as each time we have done this, he has refused the food (oil to purees, more formula).

He loves meat, likes sunbutter (we can do peanuts we don't because of a friend), eats sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews and walnuts.
