I found this highchair/seat thanks to an awesome WeddingBee mama...we LOVE it so far (dd is 8 months) http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-miSwivel-Feeding-Highchair/dp/B004VNFGME/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325792913&sr=8-1

We have the Fisher Price Booster, and it works well for us. It is great for traveling to my in-law's house and doesn't take much space in the trunk. It's also a great price and will accommodate a growing toddler.

@Mrs. Marbles: that's good, because we have 2 on our registry. i have been debating if it's really worth the price.

We have the Stokke Trip Trapp at our house (and MIL got one used for her house), but I got my mom the IKEA Spoling which folds up and can be put away. It's very useful and feels secure. Like the Trip Trapp it can be pulled up to the table. We love the Trip Trapp despite the price tag because it'll probably last us through multiple kids. The one MIL got from Craig's List was $100 and in fantastic condition.

while I am not a fan of plastic we're going with one of the ikea high chairs. either the antilop {all plastic, but so easy to clean apparently & has a tray} or the spoling {hardly any plastic, but looks like of a pain to clean due to having to wash seat in washing machine & I'm not sure if it has a try that attaches?}. we're going to have to go to the ikea store & look at them both before I know which one I want.

We have the OXO, which was a splurge, but I would totally go for that Ikea chair, too. We started using it at just shy of 5 mos. to get him used to it. He loved being up by us at mealtimes.

We're going to get the antilop. As a long-time babysitter, I am so sick of cleaning the nasty food bits from the crevices on traditional high chairs. (Grosses me out so much!) I like that the antilop will be a smooth wipe. It also looks beautiful in my opinion. And the price is definitely right. Yay ikea.

I have the Ikea Antilop high chair and I LOVE IT!!! I also have the more expensive Stokke Tripp Trapp that kind of just sits in the corner. The best thing about the Ikea chair is that it's sooooo easy to clean. That's probably the #1 thing you should look for in a high chair (besides safety of course). Feedings get super messy. Our Ikea chair is super easy to clean because there aren't any nooks/crannies for food to get buried into. Even if you end up buying a fancier high chair, you might want to consider buying the Ikea chair anyway. I think we paid like $15. We bought 2 of them (one for grandma's house). I highly recommend it! :)

We ended up registering for a wood one with minimal fuss. Everyone I talked to said the more fabric/padding it had, the messier it was. I've seen my niece cram smooshy food into the seams of her high chair at her house. My IL's still have the original wood high chair from when DH and SIL were young, and it's great. Easy to clean, no fuss and it doesn't take up much space.

I dont have any little ones of my own yet, but am the LAST one in the family and friends to have a baby. So seeing as everyone else did, I bought one for at my place for when they come over. I wanted simple and something that would not take up too much room. So I got the Fisher Price Spacesaver one. It just attatches to a chair, you can change/tilt it and adjust. I got the tan one so its gender neutral and it isnt flashy or clashing with anything and looks nice really and does not take up that much room which I love. Can just take the tray off when they are older too and scoot them up to the table.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for high chairs. I saw Bee's post about stylish high chairs but, honestly? We're not all that stylish. :) I'm looking for something that will stand up to a baby/toddler and a reasonable price.

Also, when did your LO start using their high chair?
