I actually have the predecessor to the Tripp Trapp - so the chair part, but none of the bits that make it a high chair, and they don't seen to sell those parts anymore (new parts aren't compatible).

We had the OXO Sprout for DD1 and DD2. It still looks fine (although we replaced the cushions because of damage during a move), but I just got SO sick of cleaning a tray and cleaning the straps/under the cushions. I also didn't love that the tray had several seams; because you (in theory) wash the tray well after meals, I am pretty sure there is now mold growing in the inside of the tray because water gets in the seams. Now, that's after 5y of use, so not terrible, but still just seems like a design flaw to me!

We also have an Inglesina Fast for use when eating out and traveling, but I definitely wouldn't want to clean fabric as an everyday chair.

So for DS, I really wanted something that was super easy to clean and ideally had a small footprint. We went with the Tripp Trapp and love it, but if cost were an issue, I probably would've just got the Ikea one.

Loooooove the IKEA antilop! We bought it as a second high chair for dd1 for my parents house and ended up swapping it out and keeping it at our house as our every day high chair. It has a great infant insert with a washable cover too.

I wish I got the Tripp Trapp with my first, i was on the hunt for one second hand for a long time, and wanted it for my second but never got it. The kids mostly sit at the new island counter now anyway, so it would have been too short.

We had the IKEA high chair which is GREAT for a messy eater, and only $20! Easy to travel with too.

And we LOVED the Phil & Ted's Lobster Chair for both of my kids for a loooon time. Grips to the counter really well, easy to travel with.

Another vote for Tripp Trapp. We have 3!

Once you start using the high chair, you will have it out full time anyways. So I never really understood the need to have it fold up to put away.

I'll do the opposite and mention one I didn't like. I did a ton of research and ended up with the Graco Blossom - it has a ton of fantastic reviews at its price point and I was really drawn to the 4-in-1 aspects of it.

For me, I loved that it had multiple trays and that it was secure for baby. Unfortunately, I found it extraordinarily hard to keep clean, and it has a HUGE footprint. I also hated that it wasn't table height, and that there was no way to even pull it up close to a table due to the the width of the chair and the table legs. It never felt like LO could eat "with" us, until we started using just the booster seat. The booster is great, but I could have bought just that much cheaper and saved myself the $$.

If I had to do it again, I would get the Fisher Price seat that @jhd: mentioned above - my best friend has it for her LO and it is great.

Baby bjorn for the younger days and then the inglesina lobster chair hooked onto our island up until now (she's 2, sitting in a regular chair or barstool now)
I hated having a high chair out and visible. The bjorn could be folded away when not in use. Also no fabric so I could just hose or wipe the entire thing down. No nooks and crannies either.

We also had a chicco poly, it served our purposes great without a lot of add on stuff.

I hated the Tripp Trapp, I couldn't ever get my son in and out of the baby insert (and he was of normal size) and it didn't have a tray (although it does now, but holy price!). My son also thinks they are baby chairs and refused to sit on it after he turned 3, no matter what we tried. I feel like I am the only person on the planet that didn't love it, though.

@Truth Bombs: agree about the Tripp Trapp! We have two of them and my kids are now 6 and 3 and still using them. I love the look and love how you can use it basically forever, even for adults. Resale value is pretty high, so even if you do decide to sell, you can recoup a lot of the cost.

We've had an oxo sprout for 5 years. Right now my second is using it as a regular chair. I definitely found it user friendly. We originally invested in it because we lived in a city apartment where our dining table was basically in the living room and I didn't want a big plastic thing to look at. It's a bit pricey but worth it for us! If we have a third I'm buying a new cushion color for it  (we have beige now)

We have the Tripp Trapp and we love it. It doesn't fold up to store, but it grows with your child. My kids are 3 years apart and my older one used the Tripp Trapp until she was about 3.5 when her baby brother was ready to start eating solids. Now he'll use it until he's 4ish and then we'll sell it. So we never had a need to store. When we've had a bunch of people at the house I've sat in the Tripp Trapp myself, so your kid definitely won't outgrow it for a looooong time.

I never researched high chairs while I was pregnant, thinking it's one baby thing that could wait, but I had an offer from my parents to buy one for my birthday. Do you have any favorites? Space isn't a huge issue but I'd like to be able to fold it up and store it. Also looking for easy cleaning, of course. Thanks in advance!
