We have the Valco Baby Astro. It looks pretty good, not too "babyish." It folds up super flat so it's easy to put away and it's not cloth so it's easy to wipe down. http://www.valcobaby.com/products/strollers/model/astro-high-chair.html

I'm not a mom quite yet, but several of our friends use this one and love it. It's both a standard seat and a booster, similar to the one Brownie posted.

I wanted a Stokke Tripp Trapp, but then I tried it out with my son and it's a total no go for our lifestyle. I needed something that he could use from about 4 months to just sit with us at the table, had wheels and a tray.

We went with one from Chicco, we love it. We also have the Graco system Brownie posted above, that's at my parent's home. Equally good.

I really like this one from Ikea..but it doesn't have a food tray so I'm not really sure it will work for us.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80141256/#/00145060

I can't find a single other one I like. They are all so bulky and expensive.

We have the Safety 1st Recline and Grow 5 Stage Booster Seat. It doesn't fit our kitchen chairs (they are wood with a curved back) but it fits a folding chair nicely and that works great with our table. I like that you can raise and lower the seat enough to work with several table heights. It is all plastic but it makes it easier to tear apart and wash down. I love the stokke trip trap but the price just made it out of our reach. We are happy with the use we'll get our of the booster we chose. We've been using it since my son was 5 months old and it is still going strong at 17 months. The only thing I don't care for on it is the waist belt is secured to the seat, not the back. With that in mind, we never put my son in it without scooting him up to the table and with the tray put on right away as a safety precaution but no matter the seatbelt, that should be done so I don't find it problematic.

It isn't necessarily pretty but we got this one http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Blossom-Seating-System-Vance/dp/B005XJ2VGE/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1339912835&sr=1-2&keywords=graco+highchair because it was so versatile with the booster, etc. So far it has worked really well.

There is also a new one by Peg Perego http://us.pegperego.com/babyproducts-catalog/2012/Siesta looks cool again because it is versatile and packs away small.

You could always go the montessori way and just get them their own table and chair.

You're right about the fabric ones getting gross! We have an evenflo high chair that we got for free and the fabric cover has to get washed all the time. We're getting rid of it soon. I hate it.

We also have a Mamas & Papas Baby Snug. We use it at least twice a day. It's one of my favorite purchases. I think it came with a strap that can attach it to a regular chair but don't quote me on that. I can't remember for sure since we don't use it (if it even exists! ha!) It's pretty much an alternative to the bumbo but it lasts much longer.

We have the fisher price booster. It's not super stylish, but it's not bad and it fits in our tiny kitchen. My cousin has the same booster and fabric chairs, I think she made a cover for the seat with cute oilcloth?

We got the Svan wooden high chair when it was featured on a deal site. I like the look of it, and it works with our style, but it is NOT easy to clean. In fact, I would say that most of the time, it is bordering on gross.

We have a wooden one for whenever we have a baby. It was a friend's and she was selling it for $50 and it normally retails around $150-200. I am going to have my mom sew a plastic chair cover for the baby to sit on. We also have a booster chair/high chair. I think it's fisher price. This was all stuff we got before we miscarried and we decided to keep it for our next one. : /

Is anyone else having a hard time finding a high chair they like? I'm not a big fan of anything I've seen in the stores. The plastic ones seem uncomfortable and the fabric ones seem like they'll get gross. Some of the modern ones I just don't like the look of. The little booster seat ones are neat because of their size, but we have fabric chairs in our kitchen and I'm not sure that is a good fit either. If you have a high chair you love, can you share which one it is and why you like it so much? I'm totally stuck!
