I know you said you didn't want one that clipped on to the table and wanted one that was for the chair. But just wanted to let you know our experience. We use our island as our kitchen table as it's huge and we have 2 heavy bar stool chairs with backs on each side. We had the Fischer price booster seat that was linked above but once DS got a little older, he started to be able to push off with his feet and we were way too worried that he was going to push the chair backwards and a trip to the ER was in our future. For that reason, we used the Inglesina clip on chair exclusively until they were old enough to actually sit on the chair itself.

We used the one @PinkElephant: posted. It has two or three different height options. For that you you’d definitely them strapped in. It’s not cushioned at all which makes for easier cleaning. We did mostly use a hook on chair for the island though.

The Chicco pocket snap booster is high enough that on a regular chair an 8 month old can use the table. I bet it translates to stool/bar too. But it comes with a tray for that option.

@bees_knees: it doesn’t. It has two different straps to hold it onto the chair and we keep them pretty tight. My mom originally bought this for her house to be able to easily store when the grandkids weren’t there. We have used it on a few different chairs and have been happy with it. My 2yo is still sitting in it because I am hanging onto the last baby thing I can! 😂😂

@bees_knees: Ooh I definitely didn’t get that your stools had backs. DD3 is approaching four now, so it works height-wise, but no, it wouldn’t have at 8 months! What about one of the boosters with a detachable tray? Like this?

@jhd: yes! Thanks. Does yours slide around?

@PinkElephant: I should have clarified that our barstools have backs! Did your regular booster sit your baby up high enough? We have 2 oxo tot boosters and they seems really short (but our table seems a titch higher than most?) I’ll check out the Kaboost, thanks!

@bees_knees: We ended up using a barstool with a back to attach a normal booster. I just didn’t feel that any of the boosters on the market attach safely to a backless stool.

There is a device called a Kaboost (or used to be one; we never bought it but I looked into it)that goes under a chair; You could possibly use one of those under a normal chair with the seat pictured above for maybe even under your current high chair.

Would this work? We have one similar to this on a regular kitchen chair.

We are looking for something for our almost 8 month old ( :crying: ) to sit in on a barstool around our island. Something that attaches to the chair...I guess ideally tall enough so she can use the island as the table but a tray would work too.

Anyone have an recommendations? Does this exist? (4th baby but the first time we've had an island :silly: ) TIA!

ETA: I want one that attaches to the chair, not the counter itself
