Oh this is interesting. My first thought was that is high but I've had two boys and heart rates in the 140-150's always.

I have 3 girls. One was always in the 170/180 area and the other two stayed right around the 140 area.

I just looked back at some of my old notes from when I was pregnant with E--her HB was super high early on, then in the high 150s-160s until the last month, when it slowed down a bit. I'm still thinking this one could be your girl. :)

Mine was that high -- everyone said it must mean baby's a girl. He's a boy :-) the heartbeat fluctuated a lot between appointments, so I don't really trust that as a predictor!

I just went back and looked --my girl's hb was 170 at 10 weeks and she is/was perfectly healthy :) the dr at that appointment described her hb as "very strong"

@winniebee: DD's HR was 170's around that time. Deep down I knew she was a girl too. Don't want to get your hopes up, but my gut instinct was right both times. ;) Will you be finding out the sex?
