Thank you everyone for your input. It's so easy to go down the Google rabbit hole while waiting to see your doctor. :meh:

Amorini prretty much covered it I think. Usually together with AFC (antral follicle count) an RE can predict how many eggs they can/should be retrieve for a stim cycle. I had AMH of 14ng/ml and AFC of 26 or 28, I think they just stopped counting at that point and would retrieve 20+ eggs on only 187.5iu stims. There isnt really a test for quality though. My FSH was 'normal' and most of my eggs always ended up being crap.

@Shantuck: it is in ng/mL

@Amorini: thank you for your information, this is just all so confusing. My son was a surprise pregnancy at 26 and we started trying last year after I turned 28 and haven't succeeded yet. It's crazy what a couple years difference makes :/

@Shantuck: makes a good point about the units sometimes making for confusion. I’ll just assume my units are the same as yours and share what I remember about my pretty AMH number. There is a lot of fuzziness about the interpretation of the fertility hormone levels and the results can’t be looked at it isolation, from what I remember. I think sometimes really high AMH, along with other indicators, can be a sign of PCOS but on its own, it’s not bad for it to be higher than 4. At age 39, my AMH was pretty high (around 6-7) and, given that my FSH was 9.8 or something, I was told that it meant that I probably didn’t have diminished ovarian reserve but that I might have lower quality. FSH usually indicates quality and AMH indicates quantity. Also AMH under 1 can indicate DOR and a low response to stims during IVF. Higher than 1 is better, but 6 might not be a whole lot better than 2-3, if you get what I’m saying, especially if your egg quality is good. For me, my high-ish AMH seemed to be a pretty accurate indication of quantity and also was consistent with my antral follicle count (decent number for my age). Later on during my IVF cycle, I responded really well to stims (produced lots and lots of follicles). Everyone was so amazed at my high numbers of follicles. They were that of someone 20 years younger! But once those follies were retrieved and fertilized, I only ended up with a few good embies due to low quality.

I also remember there not being a lot of good info out there about higher than typical AMH. I think they are still figuring it all out and haven’t been testing for it for very long as an indicator for fertility.

Do you know which unit of measurement it is in? Ng/ml versus pmol/l?

I FINALLY got my AMH results back after waiting almost 2 weeks. I see my doctor next week, but I'm trying not to Google myself to death. I am 29 and my results was 7.94, it says its normal ranges for my age group, but everything else I have looked up says 4 is the top end of normal.

What has been your experience with similar levels?

Also my other results from CD 3 was:
Estradiol- 31.7
FSH- 5.7
Prolactin- 11.4
