@GreenThumb: Thanks for posting this. I checked out the local FB page when you first posted but I was still pregnant (I didn't think to do it while pregnant but that is encouraged too). I just did a hike this week. I really enjoyed it and met some cool women.

@daniellemybelle: there's usually a variety. I have a toddler, so we go toddler paced. But some branches have more options, so people with just babies can do faster/longer hikes. And people with multiple kids can do more stroller friendly/New Walker hikes. I think chasing my toddler is enough of a workout for me, but some moms find the toddler walks on the leisurely side, haha.

@bushelandapeck: Yes, I'm up north a bit, but there are a lot of great hikes all around the area. You should check one out!

@jedeve: That's fantastic! I haven't lead any myself yet, but the Boston area group is really active, so there are hikes almost every day! Such a great group.

@daniellemybelle: I think there are hikes of various levels, but everything I've been on has been nice and easy because my toddler often wants to walk rather than go in the pack! It is a great way to be a little active, get the LOs outside, and meet some other families.

This sounds awesome! I am intimidated because I am not a hiker or particularly active/in shape at all. Are there any easy hikes - more like scenic walks? :)

That is a neat idea. I love going on hikes with my nanny kids, sadly there aren't any events in my area.

Thanks! There isn't one in my city but one not too far away so I just joined to see if there will be any hikes near us. We're desperate to meet some families to be friends with so this is great!

@honeybear: They do have their own website with all the hikes listed on it (hike leader contact info, trail description, directions to the meeting location, etc.). I just happened to find out about it on a FB moms group I am part of.

Ooh, great idea, but it's too bad they use Facebook as a platform.

If you are interested in group hikes with other moms/families with young children, check out Hike It Baby (https://hikeitbaby.com). I just found the site through FB and have already been on one great hike with my toddler, 5 other moms, and 10 other babies/toddlers. Fun way to spend 2 hours on a nice day. And it was just the right speed for my 22-month old to walk at least halfway (then she was in the carrier for the second half). I love to hike but am often hesitant to go by myself with LO during the week, especially on trails I'm not familiar with. This is a great way to meet other moms, get outside with LO, and do something I really enjoy. Check it out in your area!
