Ugh, I had back pain almost immediately after implantation. Ok, I'm being dramatic, but I would say it started at around 10 weeks. And it was due to the ligaments stretching and my uterus growing. I too didn't want to rely on tylenol so I bought one of those big pregnancy pillows to promote better sleeping positions. It helped a bit but honestly I was in pain for the rest of my pregnancy.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely look into finding some prenatal yoga in my area. I think that will help.

I would agree with prenatal yoga and a lot of hip stretching. There's a couple in the WTE book.

My hip pain has gotten to the point where I can barely walk without assistance at 36 weeks. not fun.

I haven't taken any meds for it though because I'm just a not a pill kinda person.

Try prenatal yoga if you have a good studio in your area (or you can get a DVD). Yoga has helped my hip and pelvic pain a lot. I also see a physical therapist and a prenatal chiropractor as some hip and pelvic pain can be connected to various parts of your back/spine being out of alignment and not really the hips themselves. Hot showers help some too. The thing that has probably helped the most (besides yoga) is taking 1,000mg of DHA daily, as recommended by the osteopathic chiropractor (and seconded by my OB). He suspected that a lot of my hip pain was due to inflammation, and in high doses DHA helps to reduce inflammation. I think he was right as my pain level has gone down when I take the DHA every day. I would definitely ask your OB before taking the DHA in that dose though, I don’t know if its ok to take so early in pregnancy (I started with it in the mid 20’s week range).

No good advice, luckily I didn't have to deal with that. But just wanted to say that it's good you don't want to take too much tylenol. I always thought it was safe because everyone says it is, but since I took it constantly for migraines my doctor said the baby can get addicted.

So I'm only 6w2d but I'm already having hip pain. I have a lot of problems with my hips and back in general.. and I think the ligaments are just starting to loosen so I'm feeling aches and pains. Tylenol does help... but I don't want to be constantly taking it. What did you do to help with hip pain? Stretches? Good sleeping positions?
