We moved from the city to the suburbs and paid around $1800 I think. That included a crane and polive detail because they had to close our street down to get our furniture out of our 4th floor apartment (stairs were too narrow). It also included them packing up everything and putting it where we wanted it in our new house. It was definitely worth every penny.

Last time we used movers we moved from a 2 br shotgun 1200 sq ft to 2 bedroom upstairs apartment around 1000 sq ft. The distance was less than 2 miles. We were paying around $100 an hour and ended up taking about 3 hours. It would have been quicker but we had difficulties with the piano, which we were attempting to move ourselves. We ended up paying an additional fee ($250). Worth it. Definitely.

A few years ago in NYC we paid $1000 plus tip for three movers to move from a one bedroom to 2 bedroom apartment. We did all the packing ourselves. They were super fast and efficient. I would recommend getting a few quotes to compare.

We moved from Pittsburgh to Boston, and ended up paying around $1200. We got quotes from 3 companies, ranging from $1200-$2000 - we packed everything, they loaded, drove, and dropped off.

we hired movers via CL, they were legit & had ins. best money i've ever spent! we did all the packing, they disassembled our bed, dresser, and dining room table, and put them back together, other than that it was just moving the items. a 10 minute drive between places, 2 bedrooms in each, the place we moved into is up 4 flights of stairs which is a pain to move into. my dad and SO helped (i had mono & wasn't allowed to lift anything) the 3 guys because the power to the street was about to be shut off for the night for construction and it was dark out, so we needed to get in ASAP. i think it was ~$400 plus we tipped $50/pp because they were AMAZING.

We moved across town (about 30 miles?) and hired movers. It was three guys and their truck. We moved from a two bedroom (plus an office) house (1100 sq ft) to a four bedroom house (2200 sq ft). I think it was around $800. The house we moved into is two stories and we have a piano, so doing it ourselves would have been really tough. We're in Texas. Totally worth it!

We paid $1200 (plus tip and some food for the guys) for a 30 minute across town move, from a 3 bedroom condo to a 4 bedroom single family house.

We packed up everything, they did the moving, and put back together the crib and some other furniture that required reassembly.

I'm in southern Maine; and it was worth every penny.

I'm moving in two weeks. It's going to be $150/hr for a three man crew & their truck. They weren't able to give me a time estimate yet. Two hours will be spent on travel time. I hope it's worth it.

When we move, I'd like to hire movers. I know the pricing is based on location, house size and distance of move, but would anyone be willing to share what they paid for moving services? I'm trying to get a general gauge for the cost...

If you don't mind sharing - # bedrooms , square footage of house & area of the US.
Also, was it worth it?

Thanks!!!
