I use OPKs, but DH and I also try to DTD daily between days 9 and 14. The daily BD was actually recommended by my OB when we first started trying.

I would def recommend daily BDs. A friend tried for a year each for her first and second and then we started trying the same month when she was trying for her third. I told her what my dr said and we both got pregnant right away. Could’ve been coincidence, but who knows.

ETA: I’m 35 and we’ve conceived 4 times in the past two years, currently 11 weeks, but the three prior were all loses.

Have you had any other children? How old are you?
I definitely think opks are a good way to go, and it doesn’t hurt to make an appointment with a doctor.

I agree with reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility - that book was a huge help to me when TTC my first. I'm not great at consistently temping so I mostly relied on OPKs when TTC my second (which may be why it took longer to conceive).

I read the book Making Babies when first TTC, which I found helpful when I was first trying. I'd also use OPK's but maybe start with the clearblue easy ones (not the advanced but the ones with the pink/white tester stick). They are easier than guessing whether the strips are positive.

Every other day, Day 5-through day 20. That's the bulk of what you need to do. If that's not happening, not much else will swing things in your favor. I think a lot of ladies on here only pay attention to days 10-18 or so, and I think that's too narrow of a window, especially if you don't want to temp, etc.

Semen needs to get cleared out every 3-5 days or else quality goes down. If you don't believe me, you can google "semen analysis instructions" and "ejaculation frequency and sperm count", etc.

Other than that, we used temping, OPKs, sperm-friendly lube (Concieve Plus), and taking Mucinex/guaifenesin to increase quality of CM.

I'd read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", get a BBT and start temping. I used fertility friend app to track my cycles and I also used OPKs sometimes. Good luck!

For me it was a huge help to use opk strips. I would have missed my window if I was relying on traditional ovulation timeframes. I paid attention to cervical mucous and tried to do cervix position checks sometimes, but I just ended up finding those more confusing than helpful.

Me and DH have been trying for 6 months now (every second day around when I should be ovulating) after agreeing we'll do 6 months of trying without any assistance etc, then if need be we'll start looking for help. And well, that time's come!

I've had a look around at what there is for the next 6 months before we go down the infertility road - looking for some more resources re: OPK, BBT measuring and ovulation calculators. I'm not too keen on ovulation calculators as I can't imagine they'll be loads of help if we haven't conceived so far after 6 months, but I found this one ( https://www.ovulation-calculators.com/ ) with some good info which might be helpful to others in future:)

Can anyone point me to some other good resources? Thanks!
