@rachiecakes: An oatmeal mask would probably make a huge difference! And yeah... I hate the groggy feeling from benedryl, but sometimes I'm desperate enough to take it.

@BabyBoecksMom: maybe an oatmeal mask? yeah, Benedryl makes me pass out, so I'd have to do it before bed and make sure I can get 8 hours because I also feel groggy waking up from it..

@rachiecakes: I have super sensitive skin and the only thing that worked on hives for me is an oatmeal bath (granted, the hives were on my body and not my face, so not sure how that would work for you). You have to be careful with using hydrocortizone cream on your face, but it could help, as well as taking Benedryl, but I don't know if you can do that and stay awake (it knocks me out!).

Ugh, I'm sorry. My face is crazy sensitive like that, too. I had a sleep study, and they put gel on spots around my face to stick the probes, and I had these huge circles of hives for days!

Hydrocortisone is a good option, though I think it can be irritating to really thin skin (around your nose), so be careful. I've heard that cooled green tea bags are soothing (steep them, cool them, apply), though not 'medical'.

@rachiecakes: Yes! It helps so much with the itching. Also cold water helps with itching, although probably hard to deal with if it's on your face. I'd say put some hydrocortisone on it and take some benadryl tonight and hopefully it'll clear up for you soon.

Do you have any hydrocortisone cream (or ointment)? I use that when I get hives and I definitely think it helps.

I had my eyebrows waxed Monday. It was a hot and humid day and I was asked to wash my face when I arrived. They had nondescript medical looking soap and soft wipes but after I could feel my skin getting irritated, it felt tight, warm, itchy.
Later that evening the sides of my face were itching. Yesterday the sides were still red and bumpy. Today it's my whole face, forehead, chin, cheeks, etc.

I've taken two showers and an antihistamine (Claritan) yesterday and today. What else can I do for these hives??? It's beyond irritating.

Anyone else have super-sensitive skin? How do you deal?
