three weeks later and I'm still at a loss for what to do.

I've tried every trick listed above, and i feel like we havent made any progress. I'm becoming more frustrated with her school with each passing day. Its like they're satisfied with where she is at. I get little to no feedback from her teachers and if i do its open ended. example: yesterday I got a message from her main teacher that she had a #2 accident during nap and they had to throw away her underwear. I replied back and asked if she went any other time during the day and got no response. When i picked her up at school, a different teacher told me she peed at 4-4:30 (the only time that day) but wasnt the one with her. When I asked my LO about peeing she told me she didnt go. If she didnt pee at 4:30 that means she held it from 7am until 9pm when we had an utter meltdown in the tub and she finally got a pull up before bed. She will not pee in the potty for me AT ALL. But now she wont even have an accident or pee in the tub. I feel like we're so off course and that this is going on too long and I cant figure out how to course correct. If we back track and go back to pull ups she has to go back to the old classroom with the newly 2-2 1/2 yr olds, or do we go on and just hope for a miracle breakthrough

My oldest held for hours and would scream and sob when her poor bladder just couldn't hold it anymore.
I literally sat her on the toilet and handed her an ice cream cone. As soon as she let her attention go to the ice cream and not her bladder it clicked.

@Chillybear: My daughter would do the same thing with holding her pee for hours. I found that giving her lots more water to drink really helped with stopping that. I was also very worried about her getting an infection

@MrsSRS: @Mrs. Cereal: Ok now i get it... we'll be trying that tonight.

She wont take showers only baths... so far she hasnt peed in the tub but has in the pool

@fancyfunction: I know that what it is.. her whole life has been turned upside down and for the most part she's taken it all in stride. I think thats why everyone is thinking she'll be fine to train now.

My daughter was doing this as well this past spring when we tried to train (she's 3). I had just had a baby and the dr said it was all a control issue - that this was the only thing she felt she could control. I was so worried about infections though that we put training on the back burner. I can't tell you what changed but it finally happened this summer. I think it was just a case of her being ready on her own terms. Some days I thought it would never happen but I had to let it take its course. Good luck!

@MrsSRS, exactly. Just bend over at the waist so her stomach is touching her thighs. And yes also to trying in the shower, that worked really well for us for a while too.

What about turning the faucet on a little bit? Maybe hearing the water and how close it sounds to the sound of peeing, will help her release?

I think @Mrs. Cereal means to have her lean forward instead of sitting up straight she should lean until her head is forward over her knees instead of over her hips. How about sitting on the potty and doing something relaxing like a song or story? Or asking her to put her hand into warm water while she's on the potty? Peeing in the shower?

@Mrs. Cereal: not sure i understand what you mean by bending over her knees means... I cant picture it... she prefers using the big potty with a ring on it and a stool even though we have 2 little potty seats.
I spoke with the NP at the ped office and she thinks she's just not ready but also told me what to look out for if she's developing an infection. Also has me push fluids - ice pops, water, juice, watermelon anything that will create more oppurtunities or make her uncomfortable

One of the things that helped us was to have LeLe bend over her knees when she is going pee. It helped put some pressure on her bladder and it prevented a hug mess.
Other than that, maybe it is a physical thing? Have you talked with your pediatrician about this? I know I had a really hard time going pee when I was a small child, mostly a mental thing. I was scared of any bathrooms outside of our home and I would feel the urge to pee, but I couldn't get the release. I started singing to myself when I peed, and that seemed to help.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope you can find a solution that will work for you.

This is going to be long...My daughter has us all stumped. She will hold her pee all day long and it doesnt even seem to phase her. we're talking 6-7-8 hours at a time. I'm extremely worried she going to get an infection but at the same time I need to get her potty trained for reasons i'll explain below. I have a feeling this is all mental but we've hit a road block in getting her to understand how to release.

Back story: Nov 2015 she was 26 months and showed all the potty readiness signs but daycare wasnt on board bc the classroom she was in didnt have a potty and they werent able to move her up. We attempted the OCPT over 3 day thanksgiving weekend. She refused to sit on the potty and on the 2nd day was holding her pee 8-12 and 3:30-6:30. and we gave up.

In May she moved to the "potty training classroom" in June we moved in with my parents, turned her carseat, and put her in a big bed. In july we paci weaned and moved again. Oh and did i mention i'm also pregnant... 20 weeks as of Sunday. A few weeks ago (right after we moved the 2nd time) Her wonderful, amazing daycare teacher approached me that they were ready to start potty training her, they felt she was ready even though she was completely resistant at home. First week was ok, a couple accidents, a couple successes they even had a poop in the potty. weekend comes and will not potty or wear panties for me at all. 2nd week at daycare and she starts holding for hours and hours. waiting for her nap pull up, by wed both me and teacher are concerned and think maybe we need to back off.

On thursday, I am approached by the schools director. They want to move her up to the next class room on sept 6th with her best friend. Mentally she's ready to be moved the only thing holding them back is the potty training. I explained how busy and difficult this summer has been with all the changes. However if we dont move her now they dont know how soon there will be another opening to move her up. Our new school district's cut off for kindergarten is 10/1 so she will start K at 4 almost 5. and for her to do pre-K at our daycare next sept. she needs to be moved into the next classroom this year. Additionally I will be pulling her out of school for 3 months while i'm on Mat leave Jan-Apr. So those are my reasons for needing to get this done. Luckily I spoke with her teacher and she is also moving to the next room, however she's potty trained her 5 kids plus 100's of daycare kids and is stumped by my daughter.

This past weekend, her and I made some progress in that I got her to wear panties and actually sit on the potty but she had a few accidents and we made it to the potty once. She's holding her pee for so many hours and can't figure out how to release. She will sit on the potty and knows she has to go but sometimes 15-20 min sitting and she tells me "it wont come out" or "mommy help me make the pee pee come out" we've been forcing fluids on her and she will wait until she physically cant hold it anymore and have an accident. I just need her to have that breakthrough....
