We did ours on Hallmark.com one year; they turned out really nice but were super expensive! Last year, we did them through Costco; they also turned out well, but cost a whole lot less.

We usually do shutterfly. If you sign up for their emails they have pretty good promotion codes they send you.

I used shutterfly to make picture thank you cards for our wedding last year and they came out really nice! We are having my brother take some pictures of us in October when I will be around 30 weeks (he did a set of engagement photos for us too) and will use shutterfly or a similar site to make Christmas Cards with them. I want to get them out early since I want to send birth announcements once baby is born in late December/early January and don't want to send them too close together.

@Mamamoose - that is such a cute idea! If LO is born before we take down the tree I might have to take a picture like that as well...

I think last year when I did Vistaprint I did the slow method and they came in like a week. I plan to do mine around Thanksgiving!

we have SO many credits to shutterfly that we're going go just order from there, assuming we don't use them all up for birth announcements. if we do use them all, we're going to probably go with vistaprint - I loved them for my wedding, and like highwire said, they usually ship SUPER quick even with the "3 week" shipping!

I've uploaded my own designs to Vistaprint with great results. I've also ordered pre-designed cards from Tiny Prints and Minted. Minted, in my opinion, has the best designs, but they are pricier. I've been totally satisfied with every place I have ordered from.

@artbee: Anytime I've ordered from Vistaprint, I select the slowest shipping method and they ALWAYS end up sending it way sooner than the original time frame.

@MrsBrewer: that's an awesome idea. I always say vistaprint is dumb because you have to wait forever for shipping ..... but if you do it early it's so smart! Thanks for that idea!

I liked the service we used for DS's birth announcements, so we'll probably go that route...I can't remember if it was Snapfish or Shutterfly.

eta: We're going to do Shutterfly, I just decided...as they have preformatted Holiday Story Cards.

I think I'm going to do shutterfly. That's what we've used in the past and I've always been very happy with them. Our LO is due at Thanksgiving so my plan is to make my husband put up the tree as soon as they start selling them. Then I'm going to put LO in a santa hat in a basket under the tree and snap a pic and put something together on shutterfly. If you are signed up on their site they tend to send out some pretty good coupon codes to get a deal.

My cousin in law DIYs her cards then prints wallet sized pictures to glue on in a fun way. I really look forward to getting her cards every year! Eventually I want to get to that point but this year I'll be staging a photo shoot of M at home. Then designing my own holiday card and probably upload to Vistaprint when they have a crazy sale!

I know it's not the same, but for our wedding about a year ago, I wanted to print out and make our own save the date cards! They turned out perfectly. I made it in Powerpoint actually, and saved it as a pdf then to the size that I wanted, and then I uploaded it onto VistaPrint and used their website. It was amazing. They did great work, and they were really cheap! They have very good shipping pricing too if you do it in advance and choose the slowest shipping possible (3 weeks I think?) but it's maybe just a few dollars.

Ok so Obviously I'm a planner and way ahead of things.... but I like to DIY and I send out a ton of holiday cards so if I'm going to do them I have to start soon!

What are you/have you done for holiday cards? Do you do them yourself? Print them on Snapfish or a website like that?

I'm trying to save money this year so I am trying to figure out the cheapest way possible but I'd still like to include a picture. I think I'll make my own cards and then just print out pictures to stick in there. If you have any pretty pinned holiday cards on pinterest I love to see them!
