@starlitsky it’s a postcard size single photo with HAPPYNEWYEAR overlaid on the photo. They don’t have it anymore so I just copy an old order and swap in a new pic!

We used Paper Culture for our holiday cards for the last two years but we’ll probably do Minted this year.

@lioneyes: I’m curious what design you use every year from Minted!

I left our cards to the last minute last year and ended up using Amazon Prints because it was fastest. I thought the quality was awful, though, so I’ll definitely be looking at some of these other sites this year.

@LCTBQE: I always order prints through Smugmug because that’s what I use for my online photo storage/galleries. I don’t know what lab they use for consumer prints (they partner with a few different labs, but some are only for professional photographers) but the quality is always amazing. It’s not super cheap but not too bad...we’re picky about what photos we decide to print so it’s worth it to us to get top quality!

For anyone who is ready, Mixbook has a good sale right now- 50% off premium papers and free shipping, back printing is always included. I’m going to order from there today and I’m getting 100 cards on their nicer premium paper for about $100. Return and/ or recipient address printing is an extra 15 cents today.

@LadyDi: We got that groupon a few years and I would still use it except the closed the staples near us. The quality is alright, on par with Walmart I would say. Nice cardstock, not the sharpest photo print, but decent enough. I don't think a holiday card needs to be archive quality since most people are throwing them out after New Year's anyway.

Don't mean to thread-jack, but does anyone recommend a place to order actual photograph prints that are high-quality? The pictures from when I was a kid that we used to get developed are on really nice thick paper, everything I've seen around feels like tissue paper by comparison. I think I'm going to do a real picture and a letter this year instead of a design-y card.

I just used simply to impress for our birth announcements. I haven’t gotten them yet so I’m not sure what the quality will be. I was going to say that the downside is that there is no free addressing like with minted they charge a lot per envelope to add it. But it sounds like that’s not an issue for you so I wouldn’t worry about it. Just another option to look into.

@Jennibenni: isn’t tiny prints the same as Shutterfly now? I know they are somehow connected but don’t know the specifics. I did look at simply to impress after I posted actually but I didn’t love any of the designs that worked with the photo I want to use. I’ll keep them in mind next year though!

We plan on order magnet cards from Mpix. This will be our first time trying it, but I really like the idea of being able to immediately stick them on the fridge. We don’t have a ton of people to send them to, so the cost isn’t too high for us.
