@pinkcupcake: yeah, I'm sure everyone has different feelings on it. :) I always prefer to go homemade versus store bought. It's always been well received by kids and teacher alike!
Last year for teacher appreciation day I put together a brown bag breakfast. A carrot-Apple muffin, Apple, dark chocolate granola bar and Sbux GC. It was really well recieved!!!

@pinkcupcake: dd is in daycare but almost pre-school aged. She has three teachers (technically 2 now but one was her teacher throughout the year so I count her too). I am ending up around $45-50/ each. I am also doing bagels for the center...there are about 21 teachers in total...so 2 dozen bagels ($25) gets me a chance to thank all the ladies who have taken the time to know her and make her feel welcome daily...

We collect for one big gift. We were told 20-40 per family is normal.

@fancyfunction: that would be nice!! I would prefer just chipping in for one big gift.

@Bao: I don't mind gift cards but I always feel so bad giving them - like I didn't work hard enough to think of something personal :(

@regberadaisy: that's a cute idea!! I love fuzzy socks. I was also thinking about baking something for the front desk / admin support staff to share but wasn't sure how people feel about getting home made goodies. I know some ppl are weird about it. Orange scones sound delish!

Two daughters equals two lead teachers. I'm giving the two lead teachers either a $15 or $20 target GC then a pair of fuzzy socks and Essie nail polish. "Something for your mistleTOE"!

For the floaters, leads, cook, and front office I'm also baking a breakfast goodie (probably cranberry orange scones) plus individual hot chocolate or orange juice. There's about a dozen total. I thought they'll appreciate this more than a dozen donuts!
Will probably do a small edible gift basket as well for the two front office ladies plus cook to share!

I was originally doing $25 gift cards for each teacher but just found out the class mom is collecting money for one big gift card for each. So I'm also going to give the teachers some new books for the classroom.

Need to start thinking about holiday gifts for the preschool teachers! Lo has one main teacher and two helpers/aides. I'm thinking $25 gift cards for the two assistants (maybe to the movie theatre?

Main teacher - I'm stuck. What's a good amount? $50? I hate to do a generic gift card but that's what I may end up doing if it's easiest :(
