I looooved getting a gift card for the holidays! It was usually something thoughtful too - we'd been talking about books and she got me barnes and noble, or i mentioned a restaurant sounded good and she thought of that. that made me more meaningful than 'just' a gift card too because there was thought involved :)

@lindseykaye, I was also reading that one and thinking the same maybe......goodies plus a gift card.

oh that's a good idea, @mae. I'm sure she would appreciate a mani/pedi at the nice salon nearby. I doubt she'd ever treat herself! Actually, my favorite massage place is nearby, too.....I definitely like this idea better than just a restaurant gc for her.

Gift card for a local spa? I imagine a person who spends all day watching multiple kids could use the occasional massage :)

Same - I have no idea! Our in-home provider is a really good friend of ours, so I feel like I have extra pressure because I do know her so well. We pay $170 a week, and I was thinking of spending $100...

She's having a baby in a couple weeks, so I think I want to get her a gift card to somewhere where she can treat herself, whether it be clothes of fun stuff I don't know. If I got it to Target she would probably use it for practical stuff.

Ahh I don't know either! I also use an in-home daycare provider who I LOVE. She has a part-time assistant that helps mostly with the couple 'older' kids she has that I would also like to thank.
There was another thread about daycare provider gifts and after reading that I was thinking of a restaurant gift card for my main nanny and a basket of treats for each of them. Stuff like chocolates, snacks, some home made things. Still not settled on this idea though.

I have *no clue* what to give! T watches E for 4 days a week ($200) and another on just Fridays ($50). Not sure what to spend or give them. I don't really know much about them, either, to really do a personal gift. Maybe a Harry and David basket or gift basket with homemade goodies plus a gift card? Thoughts? (and we really really love T so we want to get her something nice). Should we spend what we pay them a week?
