i agree with pp's. my LO started having meltdowns a few weeks ago and then she would just pass out for an hour, and we figured out she was overtired. i was reading that at this age, they should be up 2 hours max between sleep periods, otherwise their bodies start producing a stress hormone that makes them unable to fall asleep easily and results in a meltdown.

Overtired is the only thing that comes to mind. My youngest used to LOVE hearing twinkle twinkle whenever he was crying. Now that he's older it doesn't work. Hope tomorrow is a better day, mama!

@Meggo5: @mrskc: I wondered if she was overtired, we've been trying to get her down earlier this week as she hovers between 10pm and midnight usually. It's like she knows when we're trying to get her down and behaves differently to how she acts any other time, but today was something else, lol. Ha ha, an owner's manual would be brilliant, that should follow baby instead of the placenta : ) Oh and I thought about the vacuum, maybe we'll try that. Thanks guys!

My 3 month old has major meltdowns when he's overtired. Maybe she was tired? We have discovered the vacuum instantly calms him.

I don't have any advice (we're in this boat sometimes too!) but I just wanted to wish you well through this! It's times like these that it would be extra fantastic to have an owners manual!

One thought, could A just be extra tired? Sometimes exhaustion manifests in funny ways.

I hope you've had a chance to catch your breath.

My 10-week-old just had her first proper bedtime meltdown - OMG! She rarely belts out a proper cry, she has this grumbly one she normally uses but tonight we just couldn't get her to settle and I'm pretty sure the entire apartment building knew about it : ) She's had a hard morning with lots of examinations in the hospital but has been great this afternoon, lots of smiles and laughing. For some reason nothing would settle her tonight, not nursing, not rocking... sshhing made her MAD, lol. In the end, I sang to her and she fell fast asleep. Anyone got any idea what could have caused that epic meltdown? Is she old enough for teething? She didn't have a temp and she's fed normally all day. She won't take a soother or a bottle really so when she won't even take boob we don't have too many soothing tactics up our sleeves!
