@Mrs. Stroller: Oooh - good idea! I haven't put them in there because I was afraid she would roll onto them in the middle of the night and wake herself up. But she loves to "read" them. She'll open them and babble like she's reading the words. So cute! I even made a book for her for daycare that has pictures of our family with their names. I think I'll slide that into her bed tomorrow. Thanks!!

@BabyBoecksMom: Does she flip pages of board books yet? We added a few of those about a month ago and now he "reads" his books when he gets up in the morning. It's so cute to watch on the monitor!

@travelgirl1: I have to say I'm jealous of the snuggles - W won't fall asleep as long as we're holding her. She doesn't like to snuggle. As much as I'm proud of her independent attitude, I'm sad that I don't have that precious bundle to hold. It may seem exhausting, but enjoy every minute of it because they grow so fast!!

@Mrs. Stroller: Wow!! That is great sleep. Oh, and I stole your idea about putting some toys in the crib - that was genius!! It really helped with the transition of getting her to bed at night. Now she just plays and talks with her toys until she falls asleep.

@BabyBoecksMom: Well, he's a light napper, so the car transfer doesn't work. But, he does sleep like a rock star at night (14.5 hours last night!) and sleeps deeply then. Strange, huh?

Yaaaay, go do a happy dance then have a big old glass of wine! Ps. I am insanely jealous, I have A asleep on me right now and every time I try put her down she cries. Girl likes her snuggles :)

@Mrs. Stroller: I would have never guessed M was a light sleeper! He looks like the model child - I keep telling W that I want her to take notes from him ;-) But I have noticed that she is sleeping harder since she turned 1. She's finally STTN! So if we can pair that with heavy sleeping, I'll be ecstatic!

Little M is a light sleeper too - I felt the same way the one way the crib transfer from the car seat worked. I was like "OMG it does work!" It hasn't worked since....BUT a couple girlfriends told me that quite suddenly around a year it started to work for their LOs. So there's definitely hope that it's not a fluke ;)

DD is a very light sleeper (even at 13 months). The slightest noise or movement would wake her up. Frustrating, but we've dealt with it. If she ever fell asleep on the way home, we *might* be able to get her into the house and into her room for a little nap(still in the carrier). If we ever tried to take her out of the carrier, she would wake up c-r-a-n-k-y.

On the way home today, she drank 8 oz (!!) of milk and proceeded to pass out. Since it was about 30 min before bedtime when we got home, I decided to chance it and go ahead and put her in her crib. But, I decided to be even more bold and try to put her in her jammies before putting her in the crib. She slept through the whole thing!!! OMG - I feel awesome right now - Is this how moms of heavy sleepers feel??

I hope this isn't a fluke! I'm also hoping I'm not going to pay for it by her waking up early tomorrow morning.

Just had to share :-)
