Cold water foot bath. It has taken care of any swelling that pips up.

My friend told me she took magnesium to prevent swelling. I checked with my doctor and she said it's perfectly safe and also helps prevent charlie horses. So, I've taken it religiously and haven't had any swelling or charlie horses at all.

@PhotoMommy: Oh! I miss my *precious*, too. I am probably going to be in accessory overload at the end of this pregnancy! (rings, and shoes, and belts, oh my!)

@LYDG: Where's Willy Wonka and his juicing room when you need him?! :P

@PhotoMommy: Word! I had a conversation with my shoe *babies* recently to let them know I still love them, but that it may be a while before I can show them off again. *fingers crossed* that I will be able to wear them all again!

@LYDG: Yeah. I am still wearing heels (and usually pantyhose) every day to work, too. I do kick my shoes off a lot when I'm in my office, but it doesn't always help. My legs are lumpy, swollen, and pale, and so not hot(!) right now, but I really can't allow myself to care too much either! I am totally on the countdown to d-day!

@mslipgloss I feel your pain!! ahhhh! i was at a meeting at work last week and they were like, "your toes aren't little sausages, they are kielbasas!" HA! It is toooo hot here to wear pants of any sort, but I am digging Nike running shorts with an elastic band but no drawstring. I am tending to find drawstring hurts! I look gross in public wearing shorts, but at this point in my life, I do not care!

My feet have been swollen and flat for months! I can't even imagine them going back to normal or remember what they are supposed to look like... hoping that all of my cute pre-preggo shoes will fit again one day.

My lower body and legs are swollen, too, and have been for a few weeks. I just wanted to tell you I am right there with you and that I'm sorry you are going through it, too. ((hugs)) I can only wear my yoga pants - I haven't worn real pants in months!

I hate feeling like I am walking around on someone else's legs . . . it's ridonc! And it takes soooooooo long to get the swelling down, if it goes down. Last night, my feet looked like they had been blown up, and that my toes were just little nubs on my balloon feet . . . you know, like when somebody inflates a latex glove. *jinkies*

I am one week behind you (34 weeks today - woot!)

I had awful swelling and nothing worked for me :( I had to buy Payless flats in a size wide for my shower.
My arches collapsed a bit, too.. I went up a half size post-baby.

Ahhh! My legs are already sooooo big! I just got an awesome massage so I'm hoping they'll go down a little bit. Pretty sure my arches have collapsed :-( at least I'm 35 weeks and don't have that much longer left.

I had bad swelling, too at the end...but nothing compares to the swelling after if you get an IV at the hospital. My legs were like tree trunks! What worked was elevating and I'd take towels, dunk them in cold water and have DH put them over my legs and apply a little pressure. Sweet relief.

I had the exact same thing happen to me starting at 26 weeks. It was awful and I had one pair of flip flops that my fat feet still fit into. It lasted until I delivered and within a week it all went away. There wasnt' anything that I tried that worked to get rid of it at the end. But I do feel your pain.

I have had lots of swelling since about 26 weeks. It'll go down a little, but never back to normal and it always comes back. Sorry to say, but you may be in it for the long haul. I'm now 38 weeks and my feet haven't looked normal for over 2 months! Some things I have tried that help: wearing compression tights/socks (although I disagree with boogiebea, they should not be worn while sleeping at night), lying on my back with my feet propped up against the wall, draining massages from my DH, soaking my feet in ice water, swimming laps at the pool, pillows underneath the foot of my side of the bed to elevate my feet all night. Sorry you have to deal with this, I totally feel your pain!

Someone told me that flight compression socks work for swelling on the legs. She wore them when she went to bed.

My feet have been swelling out of control and it's swelling my legs too on occasion. Today my hands were so puffy! So glad I took my rings off weeks ago. I've done everything I can to get the swelling to go down (and my BP is not high either-usually in the 95/55 range), avoided salt, lots of water, stayed off feet, elevated to heart/above...anyone else have some other recs?

It's getting to the point where my poor little feet can barely wear Old Navy flip flops and it's not like I can show up to work barefoot! BOO!
