Before I got pregnant, I would stick my toddler in our BOB and take him for a run! He started to learn how to say, "Faster, mommy!" which is great motivation!

@Applesandbananas: we just started doing Nike Training Club and we love it. Hubs does it with me in our yard after work and the kids just run around while we do it. You can pick different fitness levels and different lengths - 15, 30, 45 minutes - and the app leads you through each exercise. We just prop up the iPad outside and workout.

I started with a Couch to 5K app and it turned me into a half-marathon runner! I also love Yoga with Adriene (http://yogawithadriene.com/) - I've done both her free and paid courses, and they're great.

@Smurfette: I specifically picked the program that was for busy people which means the videos are 30 min or less. Sometimes it's a little over if you include warm up and cool down but it's still really time efficient! The program is 5 or 6 days a week but I usually average 4 workouts/week.

They have hundreds or free videos on their site though so you could totally just pick a different one every day based on how much time you have and what exercise you're looking to do!

@Applesandbananas: Do you run or are you interested in starting? I joined our local Moms Run This Town chapter (it's free) and we do monthly mileage/something fun challenges. This month is working on cross training, so in addition to setting a mileage goal (if you want), we have daily cross-training workouts and post pics in the group. I also run with H.

@Smurfette: it varies depending on the program -- I did the four-week lower body program and that was three days a week, about 30 min per day. The core program is five days a week, also about 30 min. I feel like both programs really work the whole body, with just a little extra emphasis on whatever body area (core or lower body). Not sure how many days a week the eight-week programs are.

ETA: before both programs, I'd just pick videos a few times a week, which worked pretty well, but I do like the structure of having them pre-selected!

I'm a huge fan of Jillian Michaels yoga meltdown. It is more based on yoga than yoga itself, and I find it a great workout.

I'm also a fan of Fitness Blender, which is mentioned above.

Barre DVDs! Low impact, great for toning, and some provide cardio so that you can get even better results. Physique 57 are my favorite as I get the most effective workout with them. I also like Barr3. There are a lot of brands out there. I found pure barre boring. Plus, barre workouts are easy to do in a hotel room while traveling!

I'm totally a fitness blender evangelist! Lol it's honestly gotten me in the best shape of my life, and I've tried so many things -- running, yoga, Jillian, etc. There are hundreds of free videos at fitnessblender.com, but I'm currently doing their four week core program, which is about $7, and I'm loving it. https://www.fitnessblender.com/plans/4-week-core-program-for-abs-obliques-and-lower-back

There is a youtube workout plan called Bikini Body Mommy that has 12 weeks of short workouts (a video daily 6 days a week, with one day of rest, but the program is structured with 2 workouts/week that repeat 3 times each). They are short, they are done in a way that assumes that you will do them at home, and some of her kids make cameos in the videos! I like them!

30 Day Shred is great.

Insanity was awesome but I did it before I had a baby. Definitely no time for that now. Haha. They did just release a 30 minute version of Insanity and that's on my To-Buy list. Shaun T is just my favorite and the workouts are hardcore.

I have been doing the Couch to 5K program. She just chills in the stroller and we just go around the neigborhood 3-4 times. Off days I will do lunges, squats, hand weights, etc. She takes the 2lb weights and does it with me. Or she does laughs while I am doing jumping jacks. She does "yoga" or some days she just watches tv.

Jillian Michael DVDs are good too.

What do you do at home for exercise?

I've been using a Fitbit for ~5 months, which is a great motivator to move more, but I'm looking to add a little more exercise to my routine.

What do you do at home for a workout? Bonus points if it includes your toddler!
