Here is how our tea towels turned out. Super easy and cute, now I want to make some to keep!

I bought a craft kit from Michael's for the kids to make foam ornaments with their pictures inside. It's simple and doesn't require any glue.

We did homemade soap (melt and pour, not from scratch) and are giving it to everyone from Grandparents to Teachers. I'm really happy with how they turned out and the kids tell everyone about how they made the soap just for them!

@Dahlia: Love that idea! I am going to have to store that one away for future gift giving occasions.

We made salt dough ornaments this year using DS's thumbprints to make a heart and then I let him paint them.

Here's my best parenting move thus far in my daughter's 2.5 years: I took her to our local paint your own pottery place and had her paint ornaments for the grandmas. $5 per ornament, she had a blast, and the studio does all the clean up. I think the grandmas will love them.

For those that have done painting on fabric, does acrylic hold up? DH picked up christmas green acrylic instead of fabric paint, wondering if I should chance it or go buy the fabric paint instead.
I'm planning on the christmas tree tea towels above.

We bought a plain white apron one year and did handprints all over the bottom. I stamped "Grandma" on the top- it turned out really cute!

We did salt dough handprint santas one year and turned them into ornaments. They turned out super cute, this is a picture of our actual result. Last year we did handprint Christmas trees for my oldest and foot print reindeer for my baby. We did ours on paper, but the pictures I pulled from the internet show them on napkins which would be a cute idea too.

For my daughter's first Christmas, we dipper her feet in paint and pressed one foot on a ball ornament as gifts for the grandparents. This year we're doing salt dough ornaments with a hand print. Not homemade, but we do a calendar for them with pics of our daughter which is always a big hit. For mother's day (but you could do for Christmas), I let my daughter paint flower pots and then we potted a plan in them.

DD makes ornaments each year. I get wood cutouts from the craft store, paint a base coat, attach a ribbon and let DD paint them. Here is last year's (she was 15 months).

Sunday school just made these (the bodies were just yellow construction paper and they used the white paper doily halves for the wings) and they are ADORABLE.
